Job summary

SSANGYONG ENGINEERING & CONSTRUCTION CO LTD is seeking an experienced Procurement Specialist to support a large-scale hospital construction project in Singapore.

You will assist the Procurement Manager, plan procurement activities for materials, equipment and subcontract works, source and evaluate suppliers, prepare and review quotations, and ensure timely, cost-effective delivery through strict documentation and coordination with project teams.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in a related field (Procurement, Supply Chain, Business, Construction Management or Quantity Surveying).
• Minimum 5 years of relevant procurement experience, preferably in construction.
• Experience in hospital/healthcare or large-scale building projects is an advantage.
• Experience with main contractor or Design & Build contractor is preferred.
• Knowledge of purchase orders, subcontract documentation and commercial terms.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Procurement Manager in managing procurement activities for a large-scale hospital construction project.
• Plan and coordinate procurement of construction materials, equipment, services and subcontract works according to project requirements.
• Source and evaluate suppliers, vendors and subcontractors based on price, quality, capability and delivery requirements.
• Prepare and issue quotation enquiries, tender documents and procurement requests.
• Review and evaluate quotations and commercial proposals from suppliers and subcontractors.
• Prepare quotation comparison and procurement recommendation reports for management review and approval.
• Assist in negotiating prices, payment terms, delivery schedules and commercial conditions.
• Coordinate with project, engineering, quantity surveying and site teams to determine procurement requirements.
• Monitor procurement schedules and ensure timely placement of orders and delivery of materials and equipment.
• Follow up with suppliers and subcontractors on production, delivery schedules and outstanding issues.
• Monitor supplier and subcontractor performance and assist in resolving procurement-related issues.
• Review purchase orders, subcontract documents and other procurement documentation.
• Maintain proper records of quotations, tender evaluations, purchase orders, contracts and supplier information.
• Identify potential cost-saving opportunities and alternative sources of materials or services.
• Assist in monitoring market conditions, material prices and supplier availability.
• Ensure procurement activities comply with company procedures, project requirements and approval processes.
• Coordinate with the Accounts and project teams regarding invoices, payments and procurement-related matters.
• Assist the Procurement Manager in managing procurement risks and ensuring continuity of supply for critical project materials.
• Perform other procurement-related duties as assigned by the Procurement Manager / Project Manager.
