Job summary

Direct Search Global is seeking a Procurement Executive to support sourcing and purchasing of marine-engine parts, components, materials and services for marine operations. You will manage requisitions to delivery, ensuring specifications, quality and budgets are met while coordinating with suppliers, engineering teams and logistics.

You will review quotations, issue POs, monitor orders and maintain procurement records in the ERP system, developing supplier relationships and evaluating

Qualifications

  • Diploma or degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Procurement, Logistics, Business or related discipline.
  • 2–5 years of procurement or purchasing experience, preferably marine/industrial sector.
  • Experience purchasing marine-engine parts or technical services is advantageous.
  • Good understanding of sourcing, quotation evaluation, purchase orders and supplier management.
  • Able to read technical specifications, drawings or equipment descriptions.
  • Strong negotiation, cost-analysis and vendor-management skills.
  • Experience with overseas suppliers and international deliveries is beneficial.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and ERP systems; SAP advantageous.
  • Organised and detail-oriented with ability to manage multiple orders and deadlines.
  • Strong analytical, communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the end-to-end procurement of marine-engine parts, technical components, materials and services.
  • Review purchase requisitions and clarify technical specifications with engineering and operations teams.
  • Identify suitable suppliers and issue requests for quotations.
  • Evaluate quotations based on cost, quality, lead time, technical compliance and terms.
  • Negotiate pricing, payment terms, delivery schedules and contractual conditions with suppliers.
  • Prepare and issue purchase orders in line with approved procedures and budgets.
  • Monitor outstanding orders and ensure timely delivery of materials and services.
  • Coordinate with suppliers, freight forwarders, warehouses and internal teams on delivery.
  • Resolve late deliveries, quality concerns, quantity discrepancies and invoice issues.
  • Maintain procurement records and supplier data within the ERP system.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with local and international suppliers.
  • Support supplier evaluation, performance reviews and alternate supply sources.
  • Monitor market conditions, material costs and supply-chain risks.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce procurement costs and improve purchasing efficiency.
  • Ensure purchased items meet technical, quality and compliance standards.
  • Work closely with Engineering, Sales, Service, Finance, Quality and Logistics teams.
  • Support audits, inventory reviews and procurement reporting as required.
  • Perform other purchasing and supply-chain duties as assigned.

Role Overview

The successful candidate will manage purchase requirements from enquiry through delivery, ensuring that goods and services meet the required specifications, quality standards, budgets and project timelines. The role requires close coordination with suppliers, engineering teams, service departments and logistics providers.

Key Responsibilities

Requirements
