Job summary

The Ministry of Trade and Industry in Singapore seeks a strategic procurement professional to lead procurement activities for projects and corporate needs, while ensuring compliance with public sector governance.

You will manage contracts, track budgets, maintain records, support reporting, and provide administrative and stakeholder coordination to enable MTI to deliver on its partnerships and initiatives.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of procurement, business, finance or supply chain operations will be an advantage.
• Prior government procurement experience (e.g. export controls, compliance) is a plus.
• Experience using government procurement platforms (e.g. GeBiz) and enterprise systems (e.g. SAP) will be an advantage.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams and external vendors.
• Detail-oriented, organised and comfortable working with numbers and documentation.
• A strong team player who can work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficient with MS Office software (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)

Responsibilities

• Lead and execute procurement activities for projects and corporate needs, in line with public sector policies and governance.
• Manage contracts, including tender preparation, evaluation, negotiation, and contract performance monitoring.
• Support budget tracking, expenditure monitoring, and financial reporting related to procurement and contract utilisation.
• Maintain accurate records, databases, and documentation for programmes, grants, partnerships, procurements, and contracts.
• Monitor project timelines, deliverables, risks, and compliance, ensuring alignment with procurement and contract milestones.
• Analyse programme and project data to support planning, process improvements, and management reporting.
• Coordinate meetings, appointments, and travel arrangements for senior management, including preparation of meeting materials.
• Oversee office operations and document management, ensuring proper handling of confidential information and adherence to governance requirements.
• Support stakeholder and vendor engagements, including preparation of correspondence and follow-up on decisions and action items.
