Job summary

Principle Partners MY is seeking an Investment Associate to join the SEA focused Private Equity Direct Investment (buyout) team in Singapore. You will support the full investment lifecycle—from origination and execution to portfolio management and exit.

The ideal candidate is highly analytical, commercially minded, and comfortable operating in dynamic, cross-border environments.

This role offers exposure to industry research, financial modeling, and collaboration with senior counterparts.

Qualifications

• BA/BS degree or equivalent in a relevant field.
• 2–5 years of working experience in M&A investment banking or Private Equity (Buyout/Growth).
• Strong financial analysis and modelling skills.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to engage with senior counterparties and work independently.

Responsibilities

• Conduct industry research, market mapping, and competitive analyses across Southeast Asia.
• Build detailed financial models and perform valuation analyses (DCF, precedent transactions, trading comparables, LBO).
• Support due diligence processes with internal teams and external advisors.
• Prepare investment committee materials and decks with key findings, risks and recommendations.
• Assist in structuring and negotiating investment terms and financing arrangements.
• Monitor portfolio company performance through KPIs and drive value creation plans.
• Collaborate with portfolio management and cross-border teams on strategic initiatives.
• Assist with periodic reporting, valuations, and exit preparation activities.

The Investment Associate will be an integral member of the SEA focused Private Equity Direct Investment (buyout) team, responsible for supporting the full investment lifecycle — from origination and execution to portfolio management and exit. The ideal candidate is highly analytical, commercially minded, and comfortable operating in dynamic, cross-border environments.

Key Responsibilities:

Investment Analysis & Execution

• Conduct industry research, market mapping, and competitive analyses across Southeast Asia.
• Build detailed financial models and perform valuation analyses (DCF, precedent transactions, trading comparables, LBO).
• Support due diligence processes by coordinating with internal teams and external advisors (legal, tax, technical, and commercial).
• Prepare investment committee materials and presentation decks articulating key findings, risks, and recommendations.
• Assist in structuring and negotiating investment terms, documentation, and financing arrangements.
• Support ongoing monitoring of portfolio company performance through financial and operational KPIs.
• Work closely with portfolio company management teams to drive strategic initiatives, business expansion, and value creation plans.
• Assist with periodic reporting, valuations, and exit preparation activities.

Requirements:

• BA/BS with strong academic qualifications.
• At least 2-5 years of working experience in M&A investment banking or in Private Equity Investment (Buyout/ Growth Equity)
• Excellent financial analysis and modelling skills
• Strong commercial judgment
• A team-player, with maturity, integrity and the ability to engage with senior counterparties
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Well-organized, hard-working, self-starter, with an ability to work independently
