Job description

Mercer Careers is seeking candidates for the following position based in the Singapore office:

Principal, Rewards Advisory
We will count on you to:
  • Lead end-to-end delivery and commercial ownership of multiple, complex client accounts across industries, ensuring projects are delivered on time, on budget, and to high-quality standards.
  • Act as the primary trusted advisor to clients/stakeholders, translating business strategy into compensation and total rewards solutions.
  • Design and oversee advanced reward solutions including job evaluation frameworks, global and local salary structure strategy, short- and long-term incentive (STI/LTI) architecture, sales incentive plans, merit and promotion frameworks, performance calibration and governance.
  • Lead executive compensation engagements: board and executive pay benchmarking, LTI design and valuation, CEO and senior executive pay-for-performance frameworks, and KPI/target-setting advisory.
  • Drive project governance: anticipate and mitigate risks, establish robust change control, and ensure clear decision-making pathways.
  • Set technical standards and quality controls for the team; review and sign off on analyses, deliverables and client presentations.
  • Mentor and develop managers and analysts — build capability, provide formal feedback, and own succession planning.
  • Lead business development and revenue delivery: own pursuit strategy, prepare and present proposals, negotiate commercial terms, and expand existing client relationships (upsell and cross-sell).
  • Represent Mercer externally through client events, industry forums, publications and market insights.
What you need to have:
  • Extensive experience in total rewards/compensation consulting and/or relevant in-house leadership roles, with a strong track record in both broad-based and executive compensation.
  • Proven ability to manage and grow a P&L or revenue portfolio, win new clients and expand engagements.
  • Deep technical knowledge of job evaluation, salary structures, STI/LTI design and executive compensation frameworks, including familiarity with local regulatory, tax and governance considerations.
  • Strong client presence and influencing skills; experienced in advising senior executives and boards.
  • Excellent project management skills and experience running multi-stakeholder, cross-border programs.
  • Demonstrated people leadership and talent development skills — able to coach senior practitioners and build high-performing teams.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; comfortable presenting complex recommendations to senior leaders.
  • Target-driven, commercially minded, resilient and adaptable to client and market change.
Why join our team:
  • We help you be your best through professional development opportunities, interesting work and supportive leaders.
  • We foster a vibrant and inclusive culture where you can work with talented colleagues to create new solutions and have impact for colleagues, clients and communities.
