Job summary

Tata Consultancy Services in Singapore is seeking a Senior Piping Designer with extensive offshore FPSO experience to lead piping/MDS design teams and coordinate across disciplines. You will review vendor drawings, manage design changes, and ensure clash-free 3D models for construction.

The candidate should have 15+ years in piping layout for offshore platforms/FPSO, and demonstrate independent work with strong coordination and safety focus.

Qualifications

• Diploma or ITE in Mechanical Engineering with piping layout exposure.
• Minimum 15 years of relevant experience.
• Familiar with offshore/FPSO piping layout and support design concepts.
• Able to lead and guide a team of Piping/MDS Designers.
• Offshore platform/FPSO piping and support design experience.

Responsibilities

• Plan/perform 3D modelling using S3D for Mechanical, Safety, Soft Volumes, Escape & Transport Routes, Access and Material Handling Routes, Equipment modelling, Package modelling with required TP points, Piping and Pipe supports.
• Familiar with Offshore facilities – Platforms and FPSO layout design, Material handling, Piping/Pipe support design, safety requirements, conduct 3D Model reviews as per project requirements.
• Manage design changes and provide solutions during project execution.
• Coordinate with other discipline design teams to optimise 3D modelling space and minimise last-minute changes.
• Liaise with pipe stress team to finalise pipe routing and support locations/types.
• Vendor drawing review for static/rotating equipment/packages and ensure nozzle orientations align with design requirements.
• Perform/model clashes checks and collaborate to achieve clash-free model before construction.
• Assist Lead Engineer for quality plan for layout/piping design, plan/schedule/estimate/progress, contribute to technical presentations.

Job description

• Plan/perform 3D-modeling using S3D for Mechanical, Safety, Soft Volumes, Escape & Transport Routes, Access and Material Handling Routes, Equipment modelling, Package modelling with required TP points, Piping and Pipe supports
• Familiar with Off-shore facilities – Platforms and FPSO layout design, Material handling, Piping/Pipe support design, safety requirements, conduct 3D Model reviews as per the project requirements
• Effectively manage Design changes and provide appropriate solutions as and when needed during the project execution
• Coordinate with other discipline design teams to achieve optimal use of the 3D modelling space and minimise last minute changes to the design
• Liaise closely with the pipe stress team to acquire inputs for finalising the pipe routing and pipe support locations and types
• Vendor drawing review for the static Equipment’s/Rotating Equipment’s/ Packages and ensure all the Nozzle orientations, Vessel cleats support requirements are in line with Design Requirements
• Perform and check the Model object clashes on regular basis and collaborate with other disciplines for effective cleaning of the 3D Model to make it clash free before the construction
• Assist Lead Engineer for the quality plan for layout/piping design, preparing plan and schedule, estimate, progress measurement, contribute for the technical presentations and write ups

Job Requirements:

• Diploma or ITE Certificate in Mechanical Engineering with exposure to piping layout design
• Minimum 15 years of relevant experience
• Familiar with offshore/FPSO piping layout and support design concepts
• Shall be able to work independently with minimum guidance, and coordinate well with the Piping Materials and Stress teams besides other disciplines
• Shall possess hands-on exposure to S3D suite of application including MDS
• Shall be able to lead and guide a team of Piping/MDS Designers on assigned areas/sub-areas
• Have performed as Senior Piping Designer in similar sized offshore platform/FPSO projects
• Has offshore platform/FPSO Piping and support design experience
