Job summary

Oceanstar Elite Engineering Groups Pte. Ltd. seeks a Senior Piping Engineer to lead piping design, engineering and layout for major projects. You will oversee piping systems, ensure compliance with standards, and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver safe, cost-effective designs.

You will provide technical guidance, review deliverables, and support field installation and commissioning, mentoring junior engineers and coordinating with vendors and clients to resolve interface issues.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical / Piping / Chemical Engineering or related field.
• 8–12 years' experience in piping design for FPSO / FSO / FSRU / FPU and offshore projects.
• Experience with 3D design software such as AVEVA E3D/PDMS, SP3D, AutoCAD.
• Knowledge of stress analysis tools (CAESARII) is an advantage.
• Knowledge of pipe supports, expansion loops, and restraint systems.
• Understanding hydraulic analysis and pressure drop calculations.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead piping design deliverables including Piping Specification, Model, Isometrics, GA drawings and layouts.
• Ensure piping designs comply with ASME B31.1/B31.3, API, client specs and Class Rule.
• Conduct pipe sizing, material selection, valve specs, and design calculations.
• Review vendor documents and ensure alignment with project technical requirements.
• Lead piping engineering for concept through construction support; manage schedules and man-hours.

Summary

The Senior Piping Engineer is responsible for leading piping design, engineering, and layout activities for major projects. This role oversees the development of piping systems, ensures compliance with engineering standards, and coordinates with multidisciplinary teams to deliver safe, cost-effective, and constructible designs. The Senior Piping Engineer also provides technical guidance, reviews engineering deliverables, and supports field installation and commissioning.

Responsibilities

1.Engineering & Design

• Lead the development of piping design deliverables including Piping Specification, Piping Model, Isometrics, GA drawings, material specifications, and piping layouts.
• Ensure piping designs comply with applicable standards (ASME B31.1/B31.3, API, client specifications, Class Rule, etc.).
• Conduct pipe sizing, material selection, valve specification, and design calculations.
• Review vendor documents and ensure alignment with project technical requirements.

2. Project Execution

• Lead piping engineering activities for assigned projects across all stages (concept, FEED, detailed design, construction support).
• Develop and manage piping discipline schedules, man-hour estimates, and deliverables.
• Participatein model reviews (3D CAD tools such as PDMS, E3D, PDS, SmartPlant).
• Coordinate with mechanical, process, structural, and electrical/instrumentation disciplines to resolve interface issues.

3. Technical Leadership

• Guide, mentor, and review work of junior engineers, designers, and drafters.
• Lead technical problem solving, field support, and troubleshooting during construction and commissioning.
• Conduct design reviews and ensure engineering quality.

4. Safety & Compliance

• Ensure all piping designs align with HSE requirements, including layout safety considerations (e.g., maintenance access, fire safety zones).
• Participatein HAZOP, HAZID, constructability and 3D model review sessions.
• Ensure compliance with statutory regulations and applicable codes.

5. Stakeholder & Vendor Management

• Interface with clients, project managers, vendors, and contractors.
• Review and approve piping material requisitions, technical bid evaluations, and vendor drawings.
• Provide technical clarification and support during procurement and fabrication.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical / Piping / Chemical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 8-12 years' experience in piping design andengineering for FPSO / FSO/ FSRU / FPU, offshore platform and oil & Gas projects
• Experience with 3D design software such as:
  -AVEVA E3D / PDMS
  -SmartPlant 3D (SP3D)
  -AutoCAD / Plant 3D
• Knowledge of stress analysis tools (e.g., CAESARII) is an advantage.
• Knowledge of pipe supports, expansion loops, and restraint systems.
