RECRUITPEDIA PTE. LTD. is assisting an established client in Singapore to hire a Principal Engineer with ownership of the technical performance of generators, BESS, and distribution systems. You will lead engineers, drive improvements, and collaborate with partners to advance energy technology.

The role requires a degree in Electrical/Mechanical/Power Engineering and 5–7 years of power solutions experience, with a hands-on leadership style and a focus on safety and quality.

Qualifications

• Degree or Diploma in Electrical, Mechanical, or Power Engineering.
• 5–7 years of experience in power solutions including generators, BESS, and distribution systems.
• Solid technical understanding of power generation, storage, and distribution.
• Demonstrated leadership experience managing engineering teams.
• Familiarity with Singapore safety standards is an asset.

Our client is an established company specialising in power generators and BESS. They are expanding and growing at a fast pace and now looking to hire a Principal Engineer to support the growth.

They are located in the West – easily accessible via various modesoftransport.

Role Summary

As Principal Engineer, you will take ownership of the technical performance of our current product range—generators, BESS, power cables, and distribution boards—while providing leadership to our engineers and technicians. You will identify opportunities to improve product reliability, efficiency, and safety, assess new product possibilities, and serve as the key link between management, engineering staff, and external partners. This is a hands‑on leadership position suited to someone with solid technical expertise and a genuine interest in advancing energy technology.

Core Responsibilities

• Track the performance of existing products and recommend improvements.
• Carry out technical reviews, testing, and validation of new designs.
• Lead feasibility assessments for potential new power solution product lines.

Leading the Team

• Coach and mentor engineers and technicians, promoting a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
• Ensure all engineering work complies with safety, regulatory, and quality standards.

Innovation & Ongoing Improvement

• Keep abreast of industry developments in diesel generators, hybrid power, and BESS.
• Suggest and trial new technologies that support the client growth direction.
• Collaborate with suppliers and partners to assess new products and components.

Working Across Teams

• Provide technical support to sales and business development teams during client engagements.
• Deliver training and share knowledge across departments.
• Coordinate with external vendors and certification bodies as needed.

What We're Looking For

• Degree or Diploma in Electrical, Mechanical, or Power Engineering (or a related discipline).
• 5–7 years of experience in power solutions, including generators, BESS, and distribution systems.
• Solid technical understanding of power generation, storage, and distribution.
• Demonstrated leadership experience managing engineering teams.
• A practical, hands‑on problem solver who can balance theoretical knowledge with real‑world field conditions.
• Familiarity with Singapore's safety and regulatory standards is an advantage.
