Job summary

MICHAEL PAGE INTERNATIONAL PTE LTD in Singapore seeks a senior investment professional to manage a Japan-focused equity long/short portfolio within an established hedge fund environment, leveraging deep fundamental research and disciplined risk controls.

You will develop financial models, source high-conviction ideas, and present recommendations to senior stakeholders while collaborating across the broader investment team.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of buy-side investment experience within hedge funds, asset managers, family offices, or alternative investment firms.
• Demonstrated experience investing in Japanese listed equities.
• Degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering, or related discipline.

Responsibilities

• Manage and grow a Japan-focused equity long/short portfolio across sectors and market capitalisations.
• Perform in-depth company, industry, and thematic research to uncover high-conviction investment ideas.

Job Description

The Successful Applicant

• Degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 6+ years of buy-side investment experience within hedge funds, asset managers, family offices, or alternative investment firms.
• Demonstrated experience investing in Japanese listed equities.
• Strong track record of generating investment ideas that contribute meaningfully to portfolio performance.
• Exceptional fundamental research, financial modelling, and valuation skills.
• Deep understanding of equity markets, corporate analysis, and investment processes.
• Ability to make independent investment decisions while collaborating effectively within a broader investment team.
• Strong portfolio construction, risk management, and analytical capabilities.
