Job summary

Lion Global Investors Limited in Singapore is seeking an Analyst to join the Japan Equities team. You will provide investment research and administrative support, covering multiple sectors and contributing to portfolio ideas.

The role requires 2–5 years in advisory or research, solid financial modeling and valuation skills, and the ability to articulate investment theses to senior investors. Proficiency in Japanese is preferred; willingness to work in a fast-paced, international environment.

Qualifications

• Relevant degree with 2–5 years in advisory, research or investment management.
• Experience in Japan market preferred or exposure.
• Experience covering Japan or global tech sectors desirable.
• Strong financial analysis, modeling skills and valuation knowledge.

Job description

Job Purpose:

The Analyst will provide investment research and administrative support to the Japan Equites team.

Responsibilities:

• Cover multiple sectors for the Japan market.
• Perform stock and sector analysis, make recommendations for the Japan equities portfolios.
• Develop a thorough understanding of company’s business.
• Build and maintain financial and valuation models for companies covered, with varying degrees of granularity.
• Value the company’s securities based on a sound and thorough understanding of its business, competitive position and growth prospects.
• Monitor the company’s progress, stock performance and update relevant parties of key developments.

Pre-requisites:

• Relevant degree, preferably with 2-5 years of experience in advisory, research or investment management role within banking, brokerage, asset management or fund house working environment.
• Exposure to the Japan market as part of a specialist, international or global team
• Experience covering Japan or global tech sectors is highly desirable, but not essential
• Solid financial analysis, modeling skills and understanding of different valuation techniques
• Strong ability to construct and articulate concise investment theses and pitch recommendations with conviction to senior investors.
• Self-starter, independent thinker and a resilient individual
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team-based environment
• Analyst position within the Japanese Equities team. Proficiency in Japanese is preferred to effectively review and analyse Japanese-language research materials relevant to the role.
