Job summary

Braintrust is seeking Platform Support Engineers to own customer-facing deployments across AWS, Azure, and GCP. You will troubleshoot hybrid and self-hosted deployments, tackle real infrastructure issues, and partner with Cloud Infra and Engineering teams to maintain reliability.

We value hands-on Kubernetes, Terraform, and cloud expertise, plus strong back-end coding skills (Python/TypeScript/Go), and a mindset of ownership and clear communication under pressure.

Qualifications

• Customer-facing technical role experience in Support Engineering, SRE, DevOps, Solutions Architecture, or Infra Engineering.
• Strong Kubernetes fundamentals: deploy, debug, and scale workloads from events/logs.
• Hands-on Terraform and depth in at least one major cloud (AWS preferred).
• Comfort in a backend codebase — Python, TypeScript, or Go — to reproduce bugs and fix them.
• Fluency with observability tooling and data-driven decision making.
• Calm, clear communication under pressure with technical customers.
• Ownership: take problems personally and ensure customer recovery.

Responsibilities

• Own customer-facing support for hybrid and self-hosted Braintrust deployments across AWS, Azure, and GCP — from first install through steady-state operation.
• Debug real infrastructure problems: Kubernetes workloads, Terraform state, networking and VPC configuration, IAM and permissions, TLS, and cloud-provider quirks.
• Diagnose performance and reliability issues in the backend — ingest throughput, query latency, database and object-store behavior.
• Lead incident response for customer-impacting issues: triage, communicate clearly while it's still on fire, and drive to resolution.
• Ship fixes by submitting PRs to backend services, Terraform modules, and deployment tooling.
• Build tooling for diagnostics, health checks, preflight validation, and self-service paths.
• Write and maintain runbooks and deployment documentation.
• Feed patterns back to Engineering and Product to prevent recurrence.
• Participate in an on-call rotation for critical customer issues.
