Job summary

• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure cloud infrastructure and platform operations.
• Experience supporting enterprise or production cloud environments.
• Understanding of Azure security, identity, networking, compute, storage, monitoring, and governance.
• Experience with CI/CD, DevOps practices, and deployment automation.
• Familiarity with infrastructure monitoring, logging, observability, and alerting tools.
• Knowledge of ITIL Incident, Problem, Change, and Service Management processes.
• Experience performing root cause analysis and production incident management.
• Awareness of cloud security, governance, audit, and compliance controls.
• Experience working with vendors, contractors, application teams, and multiple technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain secure and resilient cloud infrastructure on Microsoft Azure, aligned with government policies and standards.
• Oversee contractors and service providers to ensure high availability, performance, scalability, and reliability.
• Enable, maintain, and support CI/CD pipelines and promote DevOps practices across environments.
• Implement and manage monitoring, logging, alerting, and observability solutions to identify issues.
• Manage and resolve incidents, problems, and changes per ITIL processes.
• Perform RCA for recurring incidents and implement corrective/preventive measures.
• Ensure cloud platforms comply with security, governance, risk, audit, and regulatory requirements.
• Plan and execute infrastructure and platform changes through governance processes.
• Collaborate with application, infrastructure, security, and vendor teams to support production environments.
• Maintain operational documentation, procedures, configuration records, and audit evidence.

Job description

One of our esteemed clients is looking for an experienced Platform Operations Engineer with strong hands-on expertise in Microsoft Azure to support the design, operation, security, and governance of enterprise cloud platforms.

The successful candidate will work closely with internal stakeholders, application teams, and external service providers to ensure cloud-hosted systems are secure, reliable, highly available, and compliant with organisational and government requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain secure and resilient cloud infrastructure on Microsoft Azure, aligned with applicable government policies and standards, including IM8 and Zero Trust principles.
• Oversee and coordinate contractors and service providers managing application systems hosted in the cloud, ensuring high availability, performance, scalability, and reliability.
• Enable, maintain, and support CI/CD pipelines and promote modern DevOps practices across platform and application environments.
• Implement and manage monitoring, logging, alerting, and observability solutions to proactively identify performance, availability, and operational issues.
• Manage and resolve incidents, problems, and changes in accordance with established ITIL processes.
• Perform root cause analysis (RCA) for recurring incidents and implement corrective and preventive measures.
• Ensure cloud platforms and operational processes comply with security, governance, risk, audit, and regulatory requirements.
• Plan and execute infrastructure and platform changes through established change management and governance processes.
• Work closely with application, infrastructure, security, and vendor teams to support production environments and continuous platform improvements.
• Maintain appropriate operational documentation, procedures, configuration records, and audit evidence.

Requirements

• Strong hands‑on experience with Microsoft Azure cloud infrastructure and platform operations.
• Experience supporting enterprise or production cloud environments.
• Good understanding of Azure security, identity, networking, compute, storage, monitoring, and governance.
• Experience with CI/CD, DevOps practices, and deployment automation.
• Familiarity with infrastructure monitoring, logging, observability, and alerting tools.
• Good understanding of ITIL Incident, Problem, Change, and Service Management processes.
• Experience performing root cause analysis and production incident management.
• Strong awareness of cloud security, governance, audit, and compliance controls.
• Experience working with vendors, contractors, application teams, and multiple technical stakeholders.
• Knowledge of IM8, Government Commercial Cloud (GCC), Zero Trust, or Singapore Government ICT environments would be an advantage.

Preferred Skills

Experience with technologies or tools such as Azure DevOps, Terraform, PowerShell, Git, CI/CD pipelines, Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Application Insights, Microsoft Entra ID, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) will be advantageous.
