Job summary

GIIAVA (Singapore) PTE. LTD. is seeking a Plant Operator to perform chemical operations safely and efficiently in accordance with the standard operating procedures.

You will monitor process parameters, handle materials, manage startup and shutdown, and contribute to process improvements with a focus on safety and reliability. This role requires hands-on experience with unit operations, ability to respond promptly to alarms and abnormal values, and meticulous documentation of production data to

Qualifications

• Perform chemical operations in safe and effective manner.
• Operate plant equipment as per Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Monitor and control pressure and temperature of chemical process equipment.
• Handle, transport and process chemicals safely.
• Carry out plant startup and shutdown in accordance with SOPs.
• Respond promptly to DCS alarms and abnormal values to maintain safe operation.
• Document plant processes and record production data.

Responsibilities

• Perform chemical operations in safe and effective manner.
• Plant Operation involves Unit Operations such as: Raw Material Receiving, sampling, unloading, Bleaching, Extraction, Drying & Decanting, Miscella and Moisture Distillation, Powder Collection and transportation to Redrying section.
• Operate plant equipment as per SOPs.
• Monitor and control pressure and temperature of chemical process equipment.
• Handle, transport and process chemicals safely.
• Transport raw materials from warehouse/ Tank Farm to processing facility.
• Recommend changes to SOPs and suggest new equipment to improve productivity.
• Assist in conducting chemical research as needed.
• Document plant processes and record production data
• Analyse and troubleshoot problems in chemical plant operations.
• Develop process improvements to enhance quality, safety and productivity.
• Clean equipment as needed and report repairs to maintenance personnel.
• To operate the plant process and utilities unit safely and efficiently to manufacture quality products in accordance with the SOPs
• To fill the role of a permit checker for the Safe Work Permit system.
• To carry out plant routine logging in a timely manner and report any abnormality.
• Respond to DCS alarm and out of control values to maintain safe and reliable operation.
• Collect process samples and carry out water titration analysis in a timely manner per SOP.
• Carry out routine preventive tasks as per schedule.
• Carry out plant shutdown and start-up activities safely to meet production schedules.
• Carry out process lines or system preparation to ensure proper cleaning and LOTO before handing over to maintenance.
• Involve in punch listing and checking activities during plant mechanical completion.
• Respond to plant emergencies as part of the Emergency Response team.
