Job summary

FAR EAST PACKAGING INDUSTRIAL PTE. LTD. is seeking a Boiler Plant Operator to sustain optimal boiler performance and supervise maintenance activities.

You will monitor gauges, control systems, and safety devices, with duties including water treatment, startup/shutdown of utilities, and coordinating with contractors. Shift work is required, following a 4-on/2-off roster.

Qualifications

• Experience in operating boiler plants and utilities.
• Knowledge of water treatment/softener dosing and boiler water chemistry.
• Ability to read gauges and interpret control parameters.

Responsibilities

• Maintain boiler efficiency by monitoring gauges and meters.
• Supervise chemical testing and treatment of boiler feed water.
• Operate and troubleshoot utilities like compressors, cooling towers, and steam systems.
• Perform preventive maintenance and coordinate with service providers.
• Oversee contractors and ensure safe handover of equipment.

Job description

• Maintains maximum boiler efficiency by adjusting, reading, and interpreting gauges, indicators, and steam flow meters.
• Observes boiler plant operations through use of electronic or pneumatic controls, pressure gauges, and safety devices.
• Supervises or performs the chemical testing and treatment of boiler feed water.
• Startup/Operate/Shut-down/Trouble shoots Utilities like Air-compressors, Air-Driers, Cooling Towers, DI Water Plant, Steam Boiler, Thermal Oil Heaters, Fire Protection Systems.
• Monitoring and Maintenance of Process Plant Equipment
• Install, service, troubleshoots, repair and overhaul basic machinery, pumps, valves, compressors and conveyor systems.
• Carryout Preventive Maintenance of Plant Equipment in co-ordination with the service providers and superiors.
• Monitor Normal Operation of Plant Equipment / Machinery / Pipe Work and Troubleshoot as necessary for smooth operation of Manufacturing Units / Packaging, minimizing downtime.
• Carrying out steam heating in accordance to requirement
• To ensure boiler maintenance program is followed
• Report for in-coming and out-going tanks when needed Carry out Mechanical Lock out & Isolation as required to perform maintenance activities either in-house or by Contractors.
• Perform Job Safety Analysis, Job Safety Observations, Risk Assessments on Operation of Utilities / Maintenance Services.
• Supervise the works carried out by contractors and Safe handover & Take over of Equipment.
• Able to handle and manage the boiler which include chemical dosage, pre-test of the boiler water and water softener dosage/treatment.
• To comply with legislative/operational requirements.
• Able to work on rotating shifts and follow Duty Roster, 4 days work, 2 days off
• To follow Production’s timings.
