Delta Silicon Photonics Business Division in Singapore is seeking a PIC Design Engineer/Scientist to design and develop silicon photonic integrated circuits for optical sensing and communication systems. You will work across the full design cycle—from concept and simulation to layout, tape-out, and foundry interaction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Photonics, Optics, Physics, Materials Science, or a related field.
• Minimum 3+ years of silicon photonics, integrated photonics, or optical systems experience.
• Strong knowledge of photonics device physics and fabrication processes.
• Experience with photonic simulation tools (Lumerical, COMSOL, CST) and PIC layout tools (Cadence Virtuoso, KLayout).
• Proficient in Python or MATLAB for modeling and data analysis.

Responsibilities

• Design and optimize silicon photonic components such as waveguides and modulators.
• Perform optical, electro‑optic, and thermal simulations to inform designs.
• Create and verify PIC layouts; drive tape‑out with foundry partners.
• Collaborate with foundries to adopt PDKs and process monitoring.
• Define test structures and support wafer‑ and package‑level characterization.
• Work with system architects to ensure designs meet system requirements.
• Maintain design documentation and reusable methodologies.
