Job summary

Corning is seeking an Application Engineer in Photonics Connectivity Solutions to lead customer-facing technical engagements across the product lifecycle. You’ll enable design-in, deployment, and adoption of PCS solutions with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities include co-design activities, on-site issue resolution, and technical training; travel up to 50% to customer sites and manufacturing facilities as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Applied Science or equivalent.
• 3+ years in optical fibers and connectivity.
• Strong communication with customers at technical level.
• Ability to work independently with little supervision.
• Effective cross-functional communication.
• Technical writing ability with detailed concepts.
• Proficient in Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Support customer co-design activities, field trials, and product evaluations.
• Complete on-site investigations of technical and product issues raised by customers.
• Act as the primary means of field remediation to resolve technical and quality issues at customer sites.
• Support sales demonstrations/presentations at customer sites and trade shows.
• Perform training, troubleshooting and field support to ensure successful adoption.
• Conduct product evaluations on Corning and competitor products to support design-in and customer decisions.
• Provide technical feedback to Sales and Manufacturing to address issues.
