Job summary

Corning is seeking an Application Engineer focused on Photonics Connectivity Solutions in Singapore. You will drive technical engagements across the product lifecycle, from design-in to deployment, with customers and internal teams.

The role requires at least 3 years in optical fibers and connectivity, frequent customer interaction, and the ability to work independently. Travel up to 50% and willingness to work outside regular hours are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Applied Science or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years' experience in optical fibers and connectivity.
• Ability to interact with customers at a technical level and convey value.
• Work independently with minimal supervision.
• Effective written and verbal communication across levels.

Responsibilities

• Support customer co-design activities, field trials and product evaluations.
• Perform on-site investigations of technical and product issues.
• Lead field remediation to resolve quality issues at customer sites.
• Support sales demos and presentations at customer sites and trade shows.
• Provide training, troubleshooting and field support for successful adoption.
• Evaluate Corning and competitor products to aid design-in decisions.
• Report competitive insights to Product, Manufacturing and Sales/Marketing.
• Offer technical feedback to address quality and field issues.
• Travel to manufacturing facilities as needed to support cross-functional resolution.
