Job summary

SG REHAB PTE. LTD. is seeking a Locum Speech Therapist to provide assessment, intervention, consultation and evaluation for students at a SPED school in North Singapore.

The role is part-time (4 full days per week) on a 12-month contract starting Jan 2027. You will conduct assessments, develop individualised therapy goals, and deliver targeted speech and language interventions across individual, small-group and classroom settings.

Qualifications

• Degree in Speech and Language Therapy
• Full AHPC Registration
• Minimum 2 years of experience
• Passionate in Speech and Language Therapy
• Relevant clinical experience in paediatrics
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Fluency in local languages will be an advantage
• Self-motivated to engage in continuous learning and education in the field of Speech and Language Therapy

Responsibilities

• Assess students' speech, language and communication needs using appropriate standardised tools, functional assessments and observations.
• Develop and implement individualised therapy goals and intervention plans aligned with students' Individualised Education Plans.
• Provide individual, small-group and classroom-based intervention tailored to students' developmental profiles and learning needs.
• Support students in areas such as receptive and expressive language, speech production, social communication and the use of augmentative and alternative communication, where appropriate.
• Collaborate with teachers and the multidisciplinary team to embed communication strategies into classroom routines, school activities and daily living tasks.
• Recommend and develop communication resources, visual supports and assessment tools suited to students with special educational needs.
• Monitor, evaluate and document students' progress, and review intervention plans regularly.
• Provide practical guidance, consultation and training to teachers, support staff and caregivers to promote consistent use of communication strategies across school and home.
• Liaise with hospitals, external therapists and other agencies to support coordinated care and continuity of services.
• Maintain accurate and timely assessment reports, therapy records and case documentation.
• Contribute to the development and review of therapy services, departmental procedures and relevant school policies with school management.
