Job summary

SG REHAB PTE. LTD. is seeking a locum Occupational Therapist for a SPED school in Central Singapore to assess students, develop goals and implement therapy to support learning, independence and participation in school settings.

Requirements include a Degree/Diploma in Occupational Therapy, Full AHPC Registration, and a minimum of 2 years paediatric clinical experience. Strong communication skills and fluency in local languages are advantageous.

Qualifications

• Degree or Diploma in Occupational Therapy.
• Full AHPC Registration.
• Minimum 2 years clinical experience as an Occupational Therapist.
• Relevant paediatric experience.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Assess students' occupational performance and developmental needs in self-care, fine motor, visual-motor integration, sensory processing, play and school participation.
• Develop individualised therapeutic goals and intervention plans to support learning, independence and participation in school activities.
• Provide individual and group occupational therapy interventions based on assessed needs.
• Collaborate with teachers, parents, caregivers and the multidisciplinary team to develop and review IEPs.
• Work with teachers to incorporate therapy strategies into classroom activities and daily school routines.
• Provide training and guidance to teachers, teacher aides and caregivers on strategies to support functional skills, regulation, positioning and safe transfers.
• Recommend and support assistive technology, adaptive equipment, seating systems and environmental modifications.
• Provide caregiver education and practical strategies to carry over skills at home and in the community.
• Support age-appropriate play, social participation, community access and transition planning.
• Maintain accurate and timely assessment reports, intervention records and progress documentation.

Education

Degree or Diploma in Occupational Therapy

Full AHPC Registration

Minimum 2 years clinical experience as an Occupational Therapist (paediatrics)
