Job summary

TianYun Education Learning Centre in Singapore seeks a Part-Time / Freelance Math Teacher and Curriculum Developer to join on-site at Marine Parade. The role combines classroom teaching with Mathematics curriculum development and learning-resource creation for Primary 1–6 students.

The ideal candidate holds a Mathematics/education-related degree or diploma, with strong knowledge of the Singapore MOE Primary Mathematics syllabus and prior teaching experience.

Qualifications

• We require Diploma or Degree in Mathematics, Education, Engineering, Science or related discipline.
• Strong foundation in Primary Mathematics and knowledge of the Singapore MOE Primary Mathematics syllabus.
• Prior teaching experience with Primary 1–6 preferred and ability to explain concepts clearly.
• Experience in curriculum development or educational content creation is advantageous.
• IB PYP experience is an added advantage.

Responsibilities

• Teach on-site Mathematics lessons for Primary 1 to Primary 6 in alignment with MOE syllabus.
• Develop and enhance P1–P6 Mathematics curriculum and teaching materials.
• Prepare lesson plans, worksheets, practice exercises, and assessments.
• Provide progress updates to parents and maintain a positive classroom environment.
• Assess student learning and conduct trial classes when assigned.
• Collaborate with curriculum team to review and refine materials.
• Travel to Marine Parade centre for physical teaching assignments when required.
• Complete curriculum projects within agreed timelines.

We are hiring – Part-Time / Freelance Math Teacher & Curriculum Developer

We are looking for a passionate, responsible and capable Part-Time / Freelance Math Teacher & Curriculum Developer to join our team.

This is a dual-role position combining physical classroom teaching with Mathematics curriculum development. The successful candidate must be comfortable teaching students at our Marine Parade centre while contributing to the development and improvement of our Mathematics curriculum and learning resources.

This is not a fully remote curriculum-development position.

Key Responsibilities

Mathematics Teaching

• Conduct engaging and effective on-site Mathematics lessons for Primary 1 to Primary 6 students
• Deliver lessons aligned with the Singapore MOE Primary Mathematics syllabus and learning objectives
• Build students' conceptual understanding, mathematical reasoning, problem-solving skills and confidence
• Guide students through different question types, including foundational, application, word problems and higher-order thinking questions
• Adapt teaching approaches according to students' learning abilities and individual needs
• Monitor students' progress and provide constructive feedback
• Maintain a positive, encouraging and well-managed classroom environment
• Provide parents with appropriate updates on students' learning progress when required
• Conduct student assessments and trial classes when assigned

Mathematics Curriculum Development

• Develop and enhance P1–P6 Mathematics curriculum and teaching materials
• Plan learning objectives, lesson progression and appropriate levels of difficulty
• Create structured lesson plans, worksheets, practice exercises, revision materials and assessments
• Develop questions covering foundation, application, problem-solving, heuristics and higher-order thinking skills
• Prepare accurate answer keys with clear, step-by-step solutions
• Develop teaching slides, teacher notes and supporting classroom resources where required
• Review, proofread and improve existing Mathematics curriculum materials
• Ensure mathematical accuracy, age appropriateness and alignment with relevant Singapore MOE learning objectives
• Incorporate mathematical reasoning, inquiry and real-world applications where appropriate
• Work closely with the curriculum team to review, test and refine learning materials
• Complete assigned curriculum projects according to agreed timelines and quality standards

Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Mathematics, Education, Engineering, Science or a related discipline
• Strong foundation in Primary Mathematics
• Good knowledge of the Singapore MOE Primary Mathematics syllabus
• Prior experience teaching Primary 1–Primary 6 Mathematics is preferred
• Experience in curriculum development, worksheet creation or educational content development will be an advantage
• IB PYP / inquiry-based Mathematics experience will be an added advantage
• Able to explain mathematical concepts clearly and provide accurate step-by-step solutions
• Strong mathematical reasoning and problem-solving skills
• Able to create structured, engaging and age-appropriate learning materials
• Confident in managing physical classroom lessons
• Responsible, organised, proactive and attentive to detail
• Able to meet agreed curriculum deadlines
• Able to work independently while collaborating effectively with the teaching and curriculum team
• Must be able to travel to our Marine Parade centre for physical teaching assignments

Work Arrangement

• Part-Time / Freelance, assignment-based position
• Physical teaching will be conducted at our Marine Parade centre
• Teaching schedules will be assigned according to class requirements and teacher availability
• Curriculum development forms an important part of this position
• Selected curriculum-development assignments may be completed remotely where appropriate
• Candidates must be willing to undertake both teaching and curriculum development responsibilities
• Preference will be given to candidates who are able to commit on a regular and longer-term basis

Remuneration

Remuneration is assignment-based and will vary according to the nature of the work assigned.

• Regular Teaching Lessons: $25-$35 per hour
• Rate will depend on teaching level, qualifications, relevant teaching experience and capability.
• Curriculum Development & Academic Support: $12-$20 per hour
• This rate applies to:

• Curriculum writing and development
• Worksheet and teaching-resource creation
• Curriculum review and editing
• Lesson preparation
• Student assessments
• Trial classes
• Meetings and training sessions
• Other assigned academic support duties

Important: Trial classes are considered part of the Curriculum Development & Academic Support scope and are not remunerated at the regular teaching lesson rate.

Final rates will be confirmed based on the candidate's qualifications, experience, capabilities and assigned responsibilities.
