Job summary

Salling Search PTE. LTD. is seeking a Panamax Broker to manage dry bulk chartering across Singapore and China.

The role involves negotiating fixtures, building owner and charterer relationships, and delivering market insights to clients and internal stakeholders. The ideal candidate has at least 3 years in Panamax broking, a strong network in SG and CN, and fluency in Mandarin. Diploma/degree in Maritime Studies or Business is preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of dry bulk broking experience (Panamax)
• Established network of shipowners and charterers in Singapore and China
• Strong knowledge of charter party terms, freight market dynamics and vessel operations
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills, ability to build client trust
• Mandarin proficiency to communicate with Chinese clients

Salling Search is currently recruiting for a Panamax Broker for a well-established dry bulk shipbroking firm with chartering desks spanning Singapore and China. This is an opportunity to work across two key Asian markets, handling Panamax tonnage for a firm with a strong regional network and deal flow.

Responsibilities

• Source and negotiate Panamax dry bulk chartering fixtures between shipowners and charterers to secure profitable deals
• Build and maintain professional relationships with owners, charterers, and brokers in Singapore and China to expand business opportunities
• Monitor freight market trends, vessel positions, and cargo flows to identify and capitalize on chartering opportunities
• Prepare and review charter party terms, fixture recaps, and related documentation to ensure contract accuracy and compliance
• Coordinate with operations teams to facilitate smooth handover of fixed vessels, ensuring operational efficiency
• Provide regular market reports and insightful commentary to clients and internal stakeholders to support informed decision-making

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of dry bulk broking experience with exposure to the Panamax segment to perform core brokerage functions
• Established network of shipowner and charterer contacts across Singapore and China to support business development
• Strong knowledge of charter party terms, freight market dynamics, and vessel operations to manage contracts and market risks
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills to close deals and maintain client trust
• Proficiency in Mandarin to communicate effectively with Chinese charterers, owners, and counterparts
• Diploma or degree in Maritime Studies, Business, or a related field
