Job summary

The National University of Singapore's Lien Centre for Palliative Care at Duke-NUS Medical School Singapore seeks an experienced educator to advance its mission of delivering quality generalist palliative care training for healthcare professionals.

Working under the Director of Education, you will align the Centre's objectives, enhance the education strategy, develop curricula, pursue accreditation, and write grants. Location is Outram Campus with regional/global collaboration opportunities.

Qualifications

  • PhD or Master’s Degree/Medical Degree with at least 4 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in educational approaches and teaching at graduate level.
  • Clinical experience in palliative care is advantageous.
  • Proven ability to design and execute education programmes.
  • Strong writing, strategic and critical thinking; excellent communications and presentations.
  • High emotional intelligence and ability to lead a team.
  • Ability to write grants and prepare reports.
  • Organised, motivated and capable of multi-tasking.

Responsibilities

  • Align strategic objectives of the LCPC to achieve education excellence.
  • Enhance and operationalise the existing education strategy.
  • Improve programmes based on best practices, needs assessment and stakeholder feedback.
  • Pursue accreditation of existing and new courses by external bodies.
  • Explore innovative ways to deliver education for effectiveness and impact.
  • Collaborate with clinician faculty to improve pedagogy and curriculum development.
  • Perform curriculum review and develop learning materials and documents.
  • Lead and oversee all educational activities and staff; prepare regular reports.
  • Write grants to secure external funding; perform related duties as requested.
