Job summary

Akzo Nobel Paints (Singapore) Pte Ltd is seeking a Sales Support Technician to provide technical and laboratory support to the Sales team and customers. Responsibilities include paint preparation, color matching, recipe management, sample preparation, and technical service.

The role emphasizes accurate color work, recipe adjustments, and collaboration with Sales and internal teams to handle customer inquiries and site visits when required.

Qualifications

• Diploma or equivalent qualification in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
• Experience in paint, coatings, color matching, laboratory, or technical service is an advantage.
• Good understanding of laboratory practices and chemical handling.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy, especially in color matching and recipe preparation.
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Customer-oriented with good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Able to work independently and collaborate with Sales and internal teams.
• Willingness to support customer/site visits when required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, withdraw, and re-pack paint samples according to requirements.
• Ensure paint is handled, labelled, and stored properly.
• Perform color matching for water-based and solvent-based paints.
• Evaluate color accuracy and adjust to required standards.
• Develop and adjust color recipes within guidelines.
• Propose color adjustments for accurate, repeatable results.
• Maintain records of color recipes and adjustments.
• Prepare wet paint samples and dry panels on request.
• Support Sales with technical service and customer inquiries.
• Assist with site visits and investigations as needed.
• Work with internal teams to resolve technical issues and support customer satisfaction.
• Maintain laboratory 5S, housekeeping, and safety.
• Comply with HSE requirements and lab procedures.
