Novena Bladeless Cataract Surgery & Eye Specialist Centre is hiring a full-time optometrist or optician to support ophthalmologists and the care team on-site. You will conduct refractions, assess visual function, and help with pre-operative workups for laser vision correction and cataract surgery, using OCT, topography, biometry and other diagnostic tools.

Training is provided for fresh graduates, including refraction and contact lens fitting, and you will educate patients on eye conditions and

Qualifications

• Provisional or Full registration with OOB Singapore is necessary.
• Pre-registration fresh graduates are welcomed to apply as we provide training in refraction, contact lens fitting, and operating diagnostic devices such as OCT, corneal topography, biometry, pachymetry, and visual field analyzer.

Responsibilities

• Perform refractions (trial frames or phoropter) and assess visual function.
• Assist in pre-operative work-up for laser vision correction, cataract surgery and other eye diseases.
• Document findings accurately and educate patients on eye conditions, treatment options and post-procedure care.
• Collaborate with clinical and administrative staff to ensure efficient clinic flow and high-quality patient experiences.
• Prescribe glasses, myopia control glasses and contact lenses.

Job description

Jobscope for clinic Optometrist or Optician

You will work full time on-site, providing comprehensive clinical support to the ophthalmologist and care team. Day-to-day responsibilities include performing conducting refractions ( we have a choice of trial frames or phoropter ), assessing visual function, and assisting in pre-operative work up for laser vision correction, cataract surgery and other eye disease patients. The role involves using diagnostic equipments (such as OCT, topography, biometry, and visual field analyzers), documenting findings accurately, and educating patients on eye conditions, treatment options, and post-procedure care. You will also be involved with prescribing glasses, myopia control glasses and contact lenses. You will collaborate closely with clinical and administrative staff to ensure efficient clinic flow,high-quality patient experiences, and adherence to clinical protocols and safety standards.

Novena Bladeless Cataract Surgery & Eye Specialist Centre is an ophthalmology clinic at Royal Square in Novena, led by 2 doctors, Dr David Goh and Dr NatashaLim. Our doctors have over 20 years of experience in treating all kinds of eye diseases, including cataract, glaucoma, retina and diabetic eye conditions, floaters, autoimmune and uveitis eye conditions etc. We also have our own MOH licensed Ambulatory Day Surgery Centre that carry out procedures such as LASIK,LASEK, PRK, ICL, bladeless femtosecond laser cataract surgery, intravitreal injections for wet age-related macular degeneration and diabetic macular disease, and all types of glaucoma surgery. Our doctors were both from Singapore National Eye Centre, with previous advanced fellowship training at Moorfields Eye Hospital in London, UK. The clinic is recognised as a Centre of Excellence for presbyopia correction, with international publications, invited conference presentations, and pioneering work in LASIK and Lenticule extraction laser vision correction.

We have a team of 4-5 optometrists and opticians, 5-6 registered staff nurses and1 administrative staff.

We travel together on company trips to overseas destinations yearly.
