Job summary

ASTREYA ASIA PACIFIC PTE. LIMITED in Singapore is seeking a skilled Network Engineer to support OTN and DWDM networks, troubleshoot incidents, and coordinate with vendors. The role covers OTDR analysis, fiber maintenance, and cross-functional collaboration to restore services quickly.

The candidate will work with cross-functional teams to fix issues, monitor networks, and handle RMA processes. Weekend work may be required and strong communication is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field and 2–5 years of experience or equivalent.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Understanding of fiber-optic technology and network components.
• Experience with ROADM, coherent transponders and long-haul networks.
• Knowledge of DWDM devices and CLI commands.
• Familiarity with dark fiber and light-level testing.
• Knowledge of network protocols and OTDR testing.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve service delivery and diagnose OT-related issues.
• Troubleshoot optical devices (Ciena 6500, Infinera GX40) in Hut, PoPs and Datacenters.
• Perform dark fiber maintenance and resolve OSP queries.
• Handle multiple vendor troubleshooting of software and hardware issues.
• Support incidents such as hardware failures, power outages, and fiber events.
• Coordinate with smart hands and equipment manufacturers to resolve faults.
• Work with ISPs/vendors on fixes and fiber repairs, including RMAs.
• Conduct OTDR analysis and interpret results.
• Monitor long-haul and metro networks and isolate faults promptly.
• Escalate to internal teams and manage critical events with clear communication.
• Document processes, create monitors and dashboards for continuous improvement.
• Follow RMA procedures for vendors and collaborate cross-regionally.
