Job summary

A*STAR seeks a highly motivated Scientist to join its research team developing advanced optical measurement systems for semiconductor manufacturing and inspection. You will contribute to design, development, integration and validation of customized optical metrology solutions across optics, precision instrumentation, automation, software, and data analysis.

The role requires hands-on experience in optical instrumentation, proficiency in scientific programming, and the ability to work

Qualifications

Master's or PhD required in optical engineering, applied physics, electrical engineering or related field.
Hands-on experience with optical instrumentation, precision measurement, or semiconductor inspection systems.
Proficiency in scientific programming (Python, MATLAB, C/C++, LabVIEW) and hardware control.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and integrate customized optical measurement systems for semiconductor inspection and metrology.
Develop system control software, automate data acquisition, and perform calibration, testing, and validation.
Analyze measurement data, optimize performance, and develop algorithms for defect detection and characterization.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and industrial partners to deliver optical inspection solutions.
Prepare technical reports, publications and project documentation; support technology transfer.
