Job summary

JPT Opto-Electronics Pte. Ltd. in Singapore is seeking a hands‑on optical engineer to calibrate and support silicon photonics test systems.

You will help set up a new silicon photonics lab, work at the bench, and explain measurements to teams in English and Chinese. Role includes travel to China for training and factory acceptance tests. The position requires 2+ years in optical alignment/calibration, strong hands‑on skills, and the ability to document results with clear reports.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Optics, Photonics, Physics, Electrical Engineering or related field.
• At least 2 years of hands‑on work in optical alignment, calibration or test in semiconductor, optical communication or optical equipment.
• Strong hands‑on skills on optical bench: fibers, lenses, free-space optics, power meters and related instruments.
• Ability to analyze data and write clear reports; basic Python, MATLAB or Excel scripting.
• Strong communication: explains technical issues clearly to customers and colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Tool optical calibration and support at customer sites (first priority).
• Install, align and calibrate optical subsystems: fiber arrays, coupling optics, power meters, light sources and vision optics.
• Run calibration checks and maintain calibration records.
• Support FAT/SAT by preparing test setups, running optical tests and writing SOPs.
