Job summary

Veolia Energy Asia Pte. Ltd. in Singapore seeks a Plant Engineer support role within our integrated chemical waste treatment facility. You will work with the Operations team to achieve operational excellence and ensure safe, compliant plant operation.

The position emphasizes knowledge of biological treatment, sludge handling, and physical-chemical processes, with a focus on documenting procedures, troubleshooting, and optimizing mass and energy balances to improve throughput and reliability.

Qualifications

• At least NITEC in Engineering.
• Class 3 driving licence / forklift licence an added advantage.
• Able to work 44 hours week with rotating shifts.
• Chemistry experience is advantageous.
• Self-motivated with broad responsibility handling.

Responsibilities

• Provide support to the Plant Engineer and Operations to achieve operational excellence in an integrated chemical waste treatment facility.
• Apply knowledge of biological treatment, sludge handling, physical-chemical treatment, filtration and evaporation in a waste plant.
• Develop, maintain and optimise process documents including SOP, RA, training material, etc.
• Evaluate and troubleshoot equipment or process problems affecting plant operation.
• Monitor plant effluent and emissions to ensure corrective action for environmental compliance.
• Study processing schedules, engineering recommendations and lab results to improve control and throughput.
• Support safety and environmental priorities; uphold Veolia Always Safe rules.
• Perform calculations for process parameters, mass balance and material balances.
• Support other site activities as delegated by Engineer or Operations Manager.
• Uphold ethics and compliance standards in daily work.

Job description

In this role, you will provide support to the Plant Engineer and work together with the Operations team to achieve operational excellence in an integrated chemical waste treatment facility and related infrastructure.

Job Description:

• To have good knowledge in the biological treatment process, sludge handling, physical-chemical organic & inorganic treatment, filter press, evaporator & etc applications in a waste treatment plant.

• Develop, maintain and optimise all process documents including SOP, RA, training material, etc.

• Evaluate and troubleshoot any equipment or process problems that affect the operation target of the Plant.

• Support environmental compliance by monitoring all the plant effluent and emissions to ensure corrective action is taken when needed.

• Assist in studying processing schedules, engineering recommendations, and lab analysis results to determine sound changes in process unit control in order to achieve target throughput.

• Provides proactive support to the Senior Engineer or Operations Manager to ensure the chemical plant is operating to maintain safety, environmental, and operational priorities at the optimum production level.

• Perform calculations for determining process parameters, mass balance and material balances.

• Support any other site activities as delegated by the Engineer or Operations Manager.

Job Requirements:

• At least NITEC in Engineering discipline

• Class 3 driving licence/Forklift driving licence an added advantage

• Able to work 44 hours week, may require to work on regular hours or 12 hours rotating shift

• Good chemistry will be advantageous.
