Job description

BRIEF DESCRIPTION

We are seeking to expand our Operations Team with new talent as part of our continued growth and strategic development. This position works with Head of Department to manage and supervise the daily operations as one of the main points of contact for crisis management; to ensure that the team executes service agreements at, and/or above customer’s standards, ensuring customer and shipment fulfilment.

JOB SCOPE

• Investigate and action on all non-conformance, exceptions, and problem escalation, and recommend corrective action plans.
• Managing and administrating shipping documents in a timely manner in accordance with agreements, internal accounting requirements, policies, and authorities.
• Maintain good relations with all internal and external stakeholders and ensure good customer service rendered.
• Provide quotations and sailing schedules as requested by a direct inquiry from customers, while ensuring competitive rates for service rendered.
• Ensure profitability for all business transactions with regular review with management.
• Create solutions to ensure fulfilment of SOP procedures and improvement in work procedures.

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR

• Minimum 3-year operational experience in freight forwarding is required for this position.
• Preferably specialised in Logistics/Supply Chain or equivalent will be an added advantage.
• Freight forwarding experience and a thorough understanding of transport and logistics processes.
• Result oriented, pro-active and possess a positive work attitude with good customer service.
• Fluency in both written and verbal communication skills (English).
• Required Skill(s): Microsoft Office (Word / Excel), preferably Microsoft Outlook as well.
