Job summary

Glencore Minerals Singapore Pte Ltd seeks a motivated Traffic professional to manage logistics, documentation and hedging activities. You will work closely with colleagues across departments and global offices to ensure timely shipments and accurate trade paperwork.

The role requires strong communication, numerical aptitude, and the ability to handle tight deadlines with on-the-job training provided.

Qualifications

• University degree or equivalent.
• Strong numerical aptitude and good communication skills.
• Willingness to travel, mainly in Southeast Asia.
• Experience in import/export, international shipping or bulk/chemical shipments preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate containerized/bulk shipments of metals and chemicals and related warehousing.
• Coordinate product and information flow between customers, head office and regional offices.
• Negotiate Letters of Credit, prepare invoices and standard trade docs.
• Monitor client risk exposures and pricing for hedging purposes.
• Follow up with customers on payments and shipments.
• Perform other ad-hoc operations support tasks.

Glencore Minerals Singapore Pte Ltd is a wholly owned subsidiary of Glencore International Plc. and engages in commodity trading.

We are seeking a motivated and driven individual who is a team player and can deliver under tight deadlines. Strong communication skills both written and verbal area must. Candidates should also have an aptitude for numbers. On-the-job training will be provided and advancement will be possible.

Traffic person is in-charge of logistics, finance, hedging, documentation, and related matters. He/She works closely with the team colleagues and liaises with people in other departments and other offices around the world.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Coordinate and arrange containerized/bulk shipments of metal/chemicals and related warehousing activities
• Coordinate overall product and information flow between customers, corporate head office and regional field offices
• Negotiate Letters of Credit, prepare invoices and other standard trade documentation
• Monitor client risk exposures and pricings for LME hedging purposes
• Follow up closely with customers for payment and shipments related matters
• Other ad-hoc tasks on operations for business.

KEY COMPETENCIES/ SKILL SETS

• Excellent communication skills, efficient and well-organized working habits
• Detailed knowledge of import /export, International shipping and bulk/chemical tankers shipments preferred
• Knowledgeable about Letters of Credit, shipping documents, inspection and insurance of bulk commodities preferred.
• Proficiency in written/spoken Vietnamese is preferred to liaise with Vietnamese speaking counterparts.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications
• Able to travel from time to time (Mainly in South East Asia)

EDUCATIONAND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

• University degree or equivalent
• Exposure to metals industry, shipping industry, commodity markets would be an advantage
