Job summary

Cogent Tank Depot Pte Ltd (Jurong Island) is seeking a detail-oriented Operations Surveyor to assist the Manager in leading surveyors, monitoring KPI, and implementing best practices within the department.

You will ensure ISO tank containers are surveyed, cleaned and repaired to customers’ standards, coordinate with subcontractors and lessees, and maintain accurate documentation from inspection to delivery, while complying with ITCO/ACC or owner’s criteria.

Qualifications

• Diploma preferred.
• 2–3 years operations experience in a container yard.
• Able to multitask effectively.
• Willing to work on Jurong Island.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Manager to manage Surveyors and ensure smooth operations in the department.
• Monitor sub-contractor KPI and enforce policies.
• Ensure ISO tank containers are surveyed, cleaned and repaired to customer standards.
• Coordinate with lessee/lessor’s surveyors for joint inspections.
• Prepare and endorse documentation prior to issuing reports.
• Identify safety hazards and ensure a safe workplace.
• Other duties as assigned.

Cogent Tank Depot Pte Ltd (Jurong Island)

Responsibilities:

1. Assist the Manager to manage Surveyors and ensure smooth operations in the department
2. Monitor sub-contractor’s KPI
3. Assist in the training and implementation of best practices and/or new initiatives within the department
4. Enforce company-level policies and review internal departmental processes
5. Ensure that all ISO tank containers are surveyed, cleaned and repaired to the customers’ standard criteria and comply to ITCO/ACC or owner’s criteria
6. Ensure that all ISO tank containers are accepted by the company
7. Responsible to conduct a thorough ISO tank survey correctly and ensure that the documents are endorsed before issuing Equipment Interchange Receipt and Inspection Report to the Operation Control Counter
8. Coordinate with the lessee/lessor’s independent surveyor for joint inspection
9. Conduct thorough inspection on the ISO tank after cleaning, repairing and testing are completed
10. Inspect the tank containers thoroughly and raise estimates after the cleaning are completed
11. Report to the superior on all documentation of ISO tank containers before sending to customers
12. Conduct pre /post repair inspection, if required by customers
13. Informed the side lifter drivers to shift the tank containers into workshop area for repair when the customers give their approval to repair
14. Submit the approved Estimates to the repairer supervisor after the tank containers are shifted into the repair bay
15. Ensure the repairer repair the items according to the indicated Estimates and repair standard and comply to ITCO/ACC or owner’s criteria
16. Identify safety hazards in operations areas and proactively eliminate any risks
17. Ensure staff work in a safe workplace
18. Any other duties and responsibilities assigned from time to time

Requirements:

1. Diploma holder preferred
2. 2 – 3 years operations experience in a container yard
3. Able to multi-tasked
4. Willing to work in Jurong Island
