Job summary

Straits Financial Services Pte. Ltd. in Singapore seeks an Executive to join the Clearing Operations & Settlements Department to perform post-trade processing, clearing, settlements and reconciliation for Exchange Traded Derivatives, OTC Margin Forex and Commodities.

You will report to the Operations Team Lead and work across HQ and Singapore subsidiaries. The role requires a Diploma in Banking & Finance, Business or Accounting, 1–2 years of related experience, and Mandarin fluency.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Banking & Finance, Business or Accounting is required.
• 1–2 years of experience in Operations, clearing, post-trade processing, settlements and reconciliations.
• Experience in brokerage houses with Exchange Clearing Membership is advantageous.
• Proficient understanding of Exchange traded Futures & Options and OTC Margin Forex.
• Strong problem-solving, meticulousness and fast learning abilities.
• Willingness to work on shift rotations and public holidays; Mandarin ability is required.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily post-trade processing, clearing, settlements and reconciliation for various markets.
• Ensure trades/journals are booked in back-office systems accurately and timely.
• Generate customer statements and ensure timely settlements; resolve discrepancies.
• Coordinate transfers and respond to client or sales inquiries; support audits.
• Maintain broking blotter, commission records and support system enhancements.
• Identify process improvements and contribute to automation and efficiency.

Headquartered in Singapore with presence in the United States and Indonesia, Straits Financial serves as the financial services arm of the CWT Group, a global leading provider of integrated logistics and financial services. We provide a fully-integrated service for our clients to access the financial and commodity derivative markets and will continue to expand into key financial and commodity markets.

We are looking for Executive to join the Clearing Operations & Settlements Department to perform post trade processing, clearing, settlements and reconciliation for Exchange Traded Derivatives, OTC Margin Forex and Commodities as well as any new Business Lines. The incumbent will report to Operations Team Lead.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform daily operational activities for HQ and other Singapore subsidiaries, namely:
  • Ensure trades & journals are booked/loaded in back-office system accurately and promptly for processing.
  • Ensure customers statements are accurate and issued on a timely manner.
  • Ensure timely settlements and resolve any transactional or settlement issues.
  • Perform trade, position and equity reconciliation between internal system against brokers/ counterparties and resolve any discrepancies.
  • Coordinate and process requests for trade/position transfers, give-out/Give-in, attend to client or sales team enquiries and handle audit confirmations etc
  • Management reporting on daily volume and revenue.
• Update & maintain daily broking blotter & commission records
• Initiate solutions and active communications with relevant stakeholders or counterparties to remediate /resolve problems pertaining to trades, fee/commission or cash
• Participate in User Acceptance Testing of any system enhancement and/or for system migration
• Work with team members to identify process improvement points and implement ideas/solutions to achieve process automation and efficiency.

Requirements

• Minimum Diploma in Banking & Finance, Business or Accounting.
• Minimum 1-2 years of experience in Operations, handling clearing, post trade processing, settlements and reconciliations.
• Prior experience in brokerage houses with Exchange Clearing Membership will be an advantage
• Demonstrate good understanding of Exchange traded Futures & Options and OTC Margin Forex.
• Meticulous and a fast learner with good problem-solving skills.
• Able to adapt to a fast-paced operational environment.
• Self-motivated and a good team player with positive and can-do attitude.
• Must be able to converse in mandarin due to need to liaise with Chinese Associates.
• Must be able to work on Singapore public holidays and shift work.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills.

Working Hours & Shift Arrangement

This role operates on a rotating shift basis, including Public Holidays. Shifts include morning (approximately 6:30am–7:00am start), afternoon (2:00pm–3:00pm start), and night (11:00pm start).

The position will primarily be on the morning shift. However, for training and operational coverage, the incumbent is expected to rotate across all shifts and cover afternoon or night shifts when required (e.g. during leave coverage).
