Job summary

Manpower Singapore is seeking an Operations Excellence Manager to drive operational performance across the value stream in aerospace MRO. You will optimize resource use, on-time delivery, quality, and continuous improvement initiatives across multiple teams.

Lead Lean, Six Sigma, HSE, and change management efforts while ensuring regulatory and quality compliance, cost control, and safe, efficient operations. This role reports to senior operations leadership and partners across functions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field.
  • 5+ years of people management experience in manufacturing, industrial, aerospace, or related environment.
  • Experience implementing Lean Manufacturing, Lean Six Sigma with measurable results.
  • Understanding of MRO operations, customer requirements, and commercial drivers.
  • Experience leading root cause analysis, corrective action programs, and quality improvement projects.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Value Stream and Distribution Centre leadership to meet delivery, quality, and performance targets using Lean and continuous improvement.
  • Coordinate resources across teams involved in repair and overhaul operations to ensure seamless workflow.
  • Champion Lean, Six Sigma, HSE, ergonomics, and operational excellence while complying with policies and standards.
  • Drive performance in cost management, OEE, working capital, and delivery execution.
  • Lead problem-solving using 8D, corrective actions, and Lean Sigma to prevent recurrence of issues.
  • Provide technical and operational leadership to direct reports and workshop staff while ensuring quality/regulatory compliance.
  • Analyze operational challenges, assess risks, and develop action plans aligned with business objectives.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and change management.
  • Implement HSE prevention programs and promote safety and improvement engagement.
  • Develop, coach, mentor, and empower team members to build a high-performing workforce.
  • Balance operational, customer, employee, and financial priorities to maintain performance.
  • Build cross-functional relationships and remove operational barriers for collaboration.
  • Demonstrate hands-on leadership and lead by example to achieve goals.
  • Develop strategic plans to anticipate needs, risks, and opportunities.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders and align on priorities.

Job Responsibilities

As an Operations Excellence Manager, you will be responsible for driving operational performance across the value stream, ensuring efficient resource utilization, on-time delivery, quality excellence, and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Collaborate closely with Value Stream and Distribution Centre leadership teams to achieve delivery, quality, and operational performance targets through Lean methodologies and continuous improvement practices.
  • Coordinate and mobilize resources across multiple teams involved in repair and overhaul operations to ensure seamless workflow execution.
  • Champion Lean, Six Sigma, Health, Safety & Environment (HSE), ergonomics, and operational excellence initiatives while ensuring compliance with company policies and standards.
  • Drive performance in areas such as cost management, Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), working capital optimization, and delivery execution.
  • Lead problem-solving initiatives using corrective action systems, 8D methodology, Lean Sigma tools, and root cause analysis to improve quality and prevent recurrence of issues.
  • Provide technical and operational leadership to direct reports and workshop personnel, ensuring compliance with quality requirements and industry regulations.
  • Analyze operational challenges, assess risks, and develop effective action plans to support business objectives.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and change management across the organization.
  • Ensure implementation of HSE prevention programs and promote employee engagement in safety and improvement initiatives.

Job Requirements
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years of people management experience within a manufacturing, industrial, engineering, aerospace, or related environment.
  • Prior experience in industrial operations, production management, MRO, or similar operational environments will be advantageous.
  • Understanding of MRO operations, customer requirements, and commercial drivers.
  • Proven experience implementing Lean Manufacturing, Lean Six Sigma tools, and continuous improvement initiatives that deliver measurable results.
  • Business acumen with the ability to balance operational performance and financial objectives.
  • Experience leading root cause analysis, corrective action programs, and quality improvement projects.
