Job summary

The role focuses on market and user research, CAD design using SolidWorks and AutoCAD, and creation of detailed mechanical drawings and documentation across the product development lifecycle. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, evaluate materials and manufacturing processes, and support prototype fabrication and testing to validate

Qualifications

• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• Experience in mechanical or product design is a bonus.
• Proficient in CAD software, SolidWorks and AutoCAD.

Responsibilities

• Conduct market and user research to identify customer needs, industry trends, and product requirements.
• Develop design concepts, 3D models, and prototypes using CAD and SolidWorks.
• Create detailed mechanical designs, including engineering drawings, models, specifications, and technical documentation.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure designs meet technical, functional, quality, and performance requirements.
• Evaluate and select suitable materials, components, and manufacturing processes based on product requirements, cost, and manufacturability.
• Support prototype fabrication, assembly, and testing to validate design concepts and product functionality.
• Analyse test results, identify design issues, and implement improvements to enhance product performance and reliability.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including industrial designers, electrical engineers, manufacturing teams, and other stakeholders, throughout the product development lifecycle.
