PH Hydraulics & Engineering Pte Ltd is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to design offshore deck machinery components using 3D CAD tools and to perform FEA validation for structural integrity under extreme offshore conditions. You will prepare manufacturing drawings, BOMs, and documentation, while coordinating with project managers and engineers to ensure seamless design integration.
The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, strong CAD proficiency, and knowledge of offshore
Design mechanical components and assemblies for offshore deck machinery using 3D CAD tools (e.g., SolidWorks, Inventor, or similar).
Perform Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to validate structural integrity and ensure equipment performance under extreme offshore conditions (static, dynamic, fatigue analysis).
Prepare detailed manufacturing and assembly drawings, BOMs, and technical documentation.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including project managers, hydraulic engineers, and electrical engineers to ensure design integration and functionality.
Conduct design calculations and select appropriate materials based on strength, corrosion resistance, and offshore suitability.
Support prototyping, fabrication, and commissioning activities, both in-house and on-site when necessary.
Ensure compliance with offshore standards and certifications (e.g., DNV, ABS, API, ISO).
Review and revise designs based on testing, customer feedback, or quality assurance input.
Maintain design records and ensure version control throughout the project lifecycle.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives in design practices, tools, and standards.
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).
Knowledge of offshore engineering requirements and equipment functions.
Proficient in CAD software and engineering drawing practices.
Strong foundation in FEA principles and experience using tools such as ANSYS, Abaqus, or similar.
Understanding of mechanical systems, load paths, stress analysis, and material behavior.
Familiarity with relevant offshore standards (e.g., DNV, ABS).
Good communication and documentation skills.
Team player with a proactive, problem-solving attitude.
