Job summary

Shuru Technologies in Singapore is seeking a skilled backend engineer to design, develop, and maintain scalable services using Python and the Odoo framework. You will tailor Odoo modules, integrate with internal systems and external services, and design robust architectures for growth.

You will collaborate with product, frontend, and QA teams to deliver end-to-end features, ensuring code quality with tests and documentation, while advancing performance and deployments in a fintech/ERP-like

Qualifications

• Strong proficiency in Python with hands-on Odoo development.
• Solid understanding of Odoo architecture: models, views, reports, server actions.
• Excellent knowledge of RESTful APIs and asynchronous operations.
• Strong SQL and PostgreSQL for performance tuning.
• Experience with Git, CI/CD, and DevOps workflows.
• 5+ years backend development; 3+ years in Python with 2+ years Odoo.
• Proven experience in building and integrating backend services.
• Experience in agile teams and end-to-end feature delivery.
• Debugging, performance tuning, and scaling backend apps.

Requirements:

• Strong proficiency in Python, with hands-on experience in Odoo development (custom modules, ORM, workflows, security rules).
• Solid understanding of Odoo architecture, including models, views, reports, server actions, and enterprise/community edition differences.
• Excellent knowledge of RESTful APIs, integration patterns, and asynchronous operations.
• Strong understanding of SQL, relational database design, and performance optimisation (PostgreSQL preferred).
• Good knowledge of software engineering principles such as OOP, SOLID, clean architecture, and design patterns.
• Ability to write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code.
• Experience working with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and modern DevOps workflows.
• Strong problem-solving mindset with the ability to understand complex systems and propose practical solutions.
• Good communication skills and ability to work both independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
• Experience with. NET / C# for microservices or backend components.
• 5+ years of professional backend development experience.
• 3+ years working with Python, including at least 2 years of Odoo development (customisations, integrations, module development).
• Proven experience in building and integrating backend services in production environments.
• Experience working in agile teams and delivering features end-to-end.
• Hands-on involvement in debugging, performance tuning, and scaling backend applications.
• Practical exposure to. NET backend development (. NET 6+, C#).
• Background in fintech, ERP, or high-transaction environments is a plus.
