Job summary

Green Avenue Home for the Elderly in Singapore is seeking a qualified nurse to attend to residents' needs and conduct regular rounds to assess their condition. You will perform basic nursing duties, monitor vital signs, document findings, supervise care assistants, and assist residents with daily living activities, while participating in monthly trainings and staff meetings.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Nursing (preferred).
• Basic Cardiac Life Support Certification License.
• Some experience in a nursing home.
• Ability to communicate at all levels.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic nursing duties such as nasogastric feeding, bathing and toileting, wound dressing, blood glucose monitoring.
• Monitor vital signs including temperature, blood pressure, pulse rate, respiration rate, pain score and oxygen saturation.
• Report findings to staff nurse accordingly.
• Assist staff nurse with writing resident's reports and documentation of resident's vital signs and other charts.
• Supervise health care assistants.
• Make and tidy beds with health care assistants.
• Assist residents in their activities of daily living (ADL), such as bathing, oral hygiene, dressing up, grooming.
• Attend monthly in-house training programmes to update and upgrade knowledge and skills.
• Attend monthly clinical staff meetings to stay updated on latest happenings in the Nursing Home.
• Mentor newly employed NAs for 3 months as assigned by the Nurse Manager and/or Director of Nursing
