Position: Nursing Aide
Reports to: Senior Staff Nurse / Senior Nurse Manager
Responsibilities
- Attends to residents’ needs
- Makes rounds to check residents’ condition regularly
- Performs basic nursing duties such as nasogastric feeding, bathing and toileting, wound dressing, and blood glucose monitoring
- Measures vital signs, including temperature, blood pressure, pulse rate, respiration rate, pain score, and oxygen saturation
- Reports findings to staff nurse accordingly
- Assists staff nurse in writing residents’ reports, documenting vital signs and other charts
- Supervises health care assistants
- Makes and tidies beds with health care assistants
- Assists residents in activities of daily living (ADL), e.g., bathing, oral hygiene, dressing up, grooming
- Attends monthly in‑house training programmes to update knowledge and skills
- Attends monthly clinical staff meetings to stay informed about updates in the nursing home
- Assists staff nurse to prepare residents’ reports for multidisciplinary rounds presentation every six months
- Mentors newly employed nursing aides for three months, as and whenever assigned by the Nurse Manager and/or Director of Nursing
Qualifications
- Basic Cardiac Life Support Certification License
- Diploma or Degree in Nursing (for foreign nurses)
- Some experience in a nursing home in a similar position
