Job summary

Seacare Manpower Services Pte Ltd invites applications for an NFS Laboratory Assistant at a secondary school in Serangoon. You will clean and sanitise laboratories, assist with practical lessons and ensure safe handling of ingredients, following FIFO inventory control.

The contract runs January 2027 to December 2028, with a 2-year duration and potential extension. Working hours are Monday to Friday, with Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays off; salary is 2,400 SGD per month.

Qualifications

• FSC Level 1 food safety certification.
• Proficiency in English (spoken and written).
• Basic IT skills (Word/Excel/email).

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitise Food Laboratories and kitchens.
• Manage kitchen linen, waste disposal and cleaning supplies.
• Receive and organise food deliveries using FIFO.
• Prepare ingredients and support lessons as instructed.
• Ensure utensils and equipment are clean and stored.
• During school holidays, conduct thorough cleaning and stocktaking.
• Assist Operations Manager with other duties during holidays.

NFS Laboratory Assistant (Secondary School - Serangoon) x1

Salary: $2,400/month

Contract Duration: 2 years, with option to extend for another year

Contract Period: January 2027 - December 2028

Working Hours:
Monday-Thursday: 7:00am-4:00pm, inclusive of a 30-minute lunch break
Friday: 7:00am-3:30pm, inclusive of a 30-minute lunch break

Working Days: Monday-Friday

No Service: Saturdays, Sundays and gazetted public holidays

Job Requirements

• Previous experience as an NFS Food Laboratory Assistant in a secondary school.
• WSQ Food Safety Course (FSC) Level 1.
• Minimum GCE N-Level qualification or equivalent.
• Good spoken and written English communication skills.
• Knowledge of proper food handling, storage and kitchen equipment care.
• Familiarity with the safe use of cleaning equipment and cleaning agents.
• Able to follow instructions and assist with basic food preparation.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and email.

Job Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitise Food Laboratories, kitchens, preparation areas, equipment and utensils.
• Manage kitchen linen, waste disposal and replenishment of cleaning supplies.
• Receive and organise food deliveries, ensuring ingredients are stored safely using the First In, First Out (FIFO) method.
• Prepare ingredients and equipment according to teachers' instructions and support practical lessons.
• Ensure utensils, cutlery and equipment are complete, clean and properly stored.
• During school holidays, conduct thorough cleaning, clear expired food, perform stocktaking and update inventory records.
• Check expiry dates and stock quantities, clean storage areas and prepare Food Laboratories for the new school term.
• Assist the Operations Manager with other operational support duties during school holidays.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
