Job summary

Beyondsoft Singapore is seeking an experienced L1/L2 security operations engineer to monitor, troubleshoot and resolve incidents for enterprise firewall and network security infrastructure. You will work with Palo Alto Networks and Check Point firewalls, perform rule changes, and escalate complex cases to L3 when needed.

The role emphasizes daily health checks, incident resolution within SLA, change management adherence, and collaboration with network, security and infrastructure teams.

Qualifications

• 3-4 years of hands-on experience in cybersecurity/network security operations.
• Hands-on experience with Palo Alto Networks firewalls.
• Hands-on experience with Check Point firewalls.
• Experience with EfficientIP DNS/IPAM/DHCP solutions.
• Good understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing and network security concepts.
• Experience in firewall policy/rule administration and troubleshooting.
• Experience analysing firewall logs and security events.
• Basic understanding of VPN, IPS/IDS, URL filtering and application control.
• Familiarity with security incident, change and problem management processes.
• Experience working in an enterprise environment with SLA-driven L1/L2 support.
• Good troubleshooting, documentation and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide L1/L2 operational and technical support for enterprise cybersecurity and network security infrastructure.
• Perform daily monitoring, troubleshooting and incident resolution for Palo Alto Networks and Check Point firewalls.
• Monitor firewall health, system alerts, security events and connectivity issues, and elevate complex incidents to L3/security specialists when required.
• Perform firewall rule creation, modification and troubleshooting, including security policies, NAT, objects, services and access control rules, following the client's change management procedures.
• Assist with Palo Alto firewall administration, including security policies, NAT policies, URL filtering, application control, threat prevention and related security profiles.
• Assist with Check Point firewall administration, including policy installation, access control rules, network objects and troubleshooting of connectivity/security policy issues.
• Perform basic troubleshooting of VPN connectivity, including site-to-site and remote-access VPN issues.
• Support EfficientIP DNS/IPAM/DHCP infrastructure, including IP address allocation, DNS record management, DHCP configuration and troubleshooting.
• Perform network and security troubleshooting using tools such as ping, traceroute, nslookup/dig, packet capture and firewall logs.
• Analyse firewall and security logs to identify connectivity problems, blocked traffic, policy violations and potential security incidents.
• Support investigation and resolution of security incidents and service tickets within agreed SLA timelines.
• Perform firewall configuration backup, health checks and routine maintenance activities.
• Assist with firewall software/OS upgrades, patches and configuration changes, including pre- and post-change validation.
• Perform basic troubleshooting of network security connectivity involving LAN/WAN, routing, DNS, DHCP and TCP/IP.
• Maintain accurate documentation of firewall rules, network/security configurations, changes and troubleshooting activities.
• Prepare incident reports, change records and operational documentation as required.
• Coordinate with network, infrastructure, application and security teams to troubleshoot cross-domain issues.
• Follow established change management, incident management and security operation procedures.
• Participate in scheduled maintenance activities and, where required, after-hours/on-call support.
• Escalate recurring or complex security issues to the appropriate L3 engineering or vendor support teams.
