Job summary

Astek Group is seeking a seasoned Network Engineer to design, implement, and support enterprise networks across LAN, WAN, data centres and cloud. You will manage firewall environments (Cisco, Fortinet, Palo Alto, Check Point) and lead SDN/Data Centre initiatives while ensuring service resilience.

The role requires hands-on expertise in BGP/OSPF/MPLS, TCP/IP, and WAN/LAN technologies, with strong troubleshooting and stakeholder management skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or related discipline.
• Strong hands-on experience with Cisco, Fortinet, Palo Alto, and Check Point firewall environments.
• Extensive experience with enterprise network design, implementation and architecture in large-scale environments.
• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, MPLS, VLANs, SDN, and WAN/LAN technologies.
• Experience supporting geographically distributed network environments.
• Familiarity with Software Defined Networks and Software Defined Data Centre technologies.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent stakeholder management and customer-facing communication skills.
• Ability to handle high-priority escalations and provide technical leadership within the team.
• Proactive mindset with a passion for innovation, service improvement, and emerging networking technologies.

Responsibilities

• Lead network architecture planning, implementation projects, and infrastructure enhancements.

• Act as an escalation point and trusted advisor for network-related incidents and strategic initiatives.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend improvements to enhance service delivery and network resilience.

• Configure and administer routing and switching technologies, including BGP, OSPF, MPLS, and L2/L3 networking.
• Design, configure, and manage NTP time servers and network services.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve complex network and infrastructure issues.
• Lead network architecture planning, implementation projects, and infrastructure enhancements.
• Support software-defined networking (SDN) and software-defined data centre initiatives.
• Utilize network diagnostic and monitoring tools such as Wireshark and network analysers for fault isolation and performance optimization.

Requirements
