Job summary

GMP Technologies is seeking a Network Engineer (Permanent) to lead end-to-end network design and security initiatives across APAC. You will drive architecture, planning, deployment, and validation for enterprise banking environments, focusing on scalability, resilience and regulatory compliance.

The role requires hands-on experience with SASE, Cisco SD-WAN, network automation, and observability, plus strong leadership and cross-functional collaboration across regional teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in CS/IT or related discipline.
• Minimum 7 years of network design and management experience in large-scale environments.
• Hands-on experience with SASE, Cisco SD-WAN, network automation and observability in large deployments.
• Strong enterprise and data center network design skills and experience deploying resilient architectures.
• Certifications such as CCIE/CCDE/CCNP preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess emerging network technologies via evaluations and PoCs for enterprise banking environments.
• Serve as network architecture SME for end-to-end solution design, planning and validation.
• Design, deploy and support LAN, SD-WAN, SASE, firewalls, load balancers, and observability platforms.
• Develop data center architectures (spine-leaf, VXLAN/EVPN, DR, availability).
• Architect routing, switching, QoS, segmentation and multi-tenancy with BGP/OSPF/ISIS/MPLS.
• Produce architecture standards, runbooks, and design documents.

About the job Network Engineer (Permanent)

Key Responsibilities

• Assess emerging network technologies through technical evaluations and PoCs, ensuring suitability for enterprise banking environments with a focus on scalability, resilience, and regulatory compliance.
• Serve as the network architecture SME, driving end-to-end solution design, planning, deployment, and validation for mission-critical environments.
• Design, implement, and support network and security solutions across LAN, SD-WAN, SASE, firewalls, load balancers, network automation, and observability platforms for data centers and branches across APAC.
• Develop advanced data center architectures including spine-leaf fabrics, VXLAN/EVPN, multi-site connectivity, disaster recovery, and highly available network designs.
• Architect and optimize routing, switching, transport, network virtualization, multi-tenancy, QoS, and Zero Trust segmentation using technologies such as BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, MPLS, and Segment Routing.
• Produce and maintain architecture standards, HLDs, LLDs, design documents, operational procedures, and runbooks.
• Conduct architecture reviews, risk assessments, performance audits, and compliance evaluations, recommending improvements where required.
• Ensure infrastructure designs align with enterprise policies, governance standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Provide escalation support for major incidents and changes, driving root cause analysis and preventive actions.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, security, application, middleware, end-user computing, and project teams on design, implementation, and troubleshooting activities.
• Partner with regional and country teams across APAC to review architectures, resolve complex issues, and deliver network and security initiatives.
• Coordinate with vendors and service providers to ensure successful delivery in accordance with agreed SLAs.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in network design, implementation, and management of large-scale network security environments.
• Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience with SASE, Cisco SD-WAN, Network Automation, and Observability solutions in large enterprise deployments.
• Strong expertise in enterprise and data center network infrastructure design and implementation.
• Proven experience deploying highly available, multi-layer data center networks.
• Hands-on knowledge of Cisco, F5, Check Point, Fortinet, and Palo Alto technologies.
• Experience with multi-vendor network automation and observability platforms.
• Demonstrated technical leadership in delivering end-to-end infrastructure solutions.
• Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage both technical and leadership stakeholders.
• Professional certifications such as CCIE (Enterprise, Security, or DevNet), CCDE, or CCNP preferred.
• Experience within banking or financial services environments is advantageous.
• Familiarity with IT Service Management (ITSM) practices.
• Understanding of regional regulatory frameworks, including MAS, RBI, BOT, and related industry standards.
