Job summary

NETS in Singapore seeks a Network Engineer to develop and maintain secure networks and mentor a team of engineers to support NETS products and services.

The role requires strong problem-solving, expert knowledge of network administration and architecture, and the ability to collaborate across the organization on network initiatives. The position may involve 24/7 standby on a rotation.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 4+ years in network engineering in a medium to large organization.
• CCNP or equivalent certification preferred.
• Familiar with VLANs, IP addressing, routing protocols (OSPF, BGP).
• Experience with SD-WAN, MPLS, VPN, DNS is required.
• Experience in payment industry networks is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Implement and administer multi-vendor network devices (switches, routers, firewalls, load balancers, DNS).
• Support LAN/WAN infrastructure (SD-WAN, MPLS, VPN-Tunnels, ISP, ISDN).
• Collaborate with stakeholders to design network solutions.
• Follow change management policies for configurations.
• Design proofs of concept for application support teams.
• Track refresh of end-of-life network hardware/software.
• Maintain network documentation and processes.
• On 24/7 standby roster on rotation.

Position Summary

We are looking for a Network Engineer to develop and maintain functional and secure networks. You will mentor a team of engineers to troubleshoot and optimize our networks for supporting various NETS products and services.

You should have excellent problem-solving skills and in-depth knowledge of Network administration and architecture to excel in the role.

Key Responsibilities

• Experienced in implementing and administrating multi-vendor network devices including switches, routers, firewalls, load balancers and DNS appliances.
• Implement and Support Network LAN/WAN infrastructure (SD-WAN, MPLS, VPN-Tunnels, ISP and ISDN).
• Work with various stakeholders within and across the organization on analyzing the requirements for Network infrastructure, VOIP/Desktop/Video connectivity to design & create effective Network Solutions.
• Implement configurations in accordance to the organization’s change management policies and procedures.
• Design network related proof of concepts and configuration to Application Support teams for implementation.
• Track the refresh of End-of-Life Network related hardware/software solutions and platforms
• Support the maintenance of processes and documentations for the IT teams.
• Able to be on 24/7 standby roster on a rotational basis within the team.

Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Computer Science or relevant technology disciplines, with at least 4 years of working experience in Network engineering role in a medium to large sized organization
• Certified in CheckPoint or Palo Alto for Firewall domain is preferred.
• Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) certification preferred.
• Strong domain knowledge in general protocols and technologies: VLANs, L2 protocols (CDP, UDLD, etc.), trunking, etherchannels, vPC, 802.1D STP and flavors, FHRPs, WLAN, IP Addressing & subnetting, DHCP, OSPF, BGP, Static routing, IPSec VPN, ACL, NAT, SSL, DNS, IPv6, L7 Load balancing.
• Familiar with Cisco ACI , Cisco routers and switches (Nexus and Catalyst), Checkpoint, Palo Alto and Fortinet firewalls.
• In-depth understanding of IT Infrastructure; network & server system monitoring, change and configuration management
• Prior experience in implementation of large scale Network solutions in the payment industry would be highly advantageous
