Job summary

NETPLUZ is a regional Managed Communication Service Provider and is seeking a Network Engineer to handle escalations from the NOC and troubleshoot complex network issues. You will work on firewall, VPN, SD-WAN and security implementations to ensure network health and confidentiality.

With 2–3 years of hands-on experience and industry certifications, you will liaise with teammates to implement best practices, document procedures, and support security hardening across the network stack.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of hands-on network engineering experience.
• Certifications CCNA/Network+/Security+ or equivalent.
• Experience with firewalls, VPNs and SD-WAN is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Handle escalated network issues to maintain service continuity.
• Engineer and administer network infrastructure with routing and switching.
• Develop security policies and safeguard network assets.
• Implement and troubleshoot firewalls, VPNs, and remote access.
• Conduct vulnerability assessments and security reviews.
• Operate security tools including NGFWs, Nessus, and endpoint protection.
• Monitor SD-WAN and WLAN deployments and troubleshoot.
• Document configurations and communicate resolutions clearly.

Job Summary

Handle ticket escalations from the NOC Team and troubleshoot all technical network-related issues to ensure optimal network performance and security.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and resolve escalated network technical issues to maintain service continuity and performance
• Engineer and administer network infrastructure using protocols, routing, and switching technologies
• Plan, research, and develop network security policies, standards, and procedures to safeguard network assets
• Implement, troubleshoot, and resolve issues with firewalls, Internet VPNs, and remote access technologies
• Manage cybersecurity risks by conducting vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and application security reviews
• Operate and maintain security technologies including system hardening, IDS/IPS, firewalls, and security incident response
• Utilize IT security tools such as Next Generation Firewalls (e.g., FortiGate, Sophos), Tenable Nessus, Email Security, and Endpoint Protection (e.g., Symantec, Sophos Endpoint)
• Manage SD-WAN and Ruckus WLAN deployments and troubleshooting
• Monitor network resources proactively using tools like PRTG and Zabbix to detect faults and ensure network health
• Develop automation solutions to improve operational efficiency and speed workflows
• Document technical procedures and network configurations clearly and accurately
• Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders to present technical information and problem resolutions

Required competencies and certifications

• Possess at least one of the following IT security certifications: CCNA, Network+, Security+, or equivalent

Preferred competencies and qualifications

• Minimum 2-3 years of relevant hands‑on network engineering and administration experience

On-the-job training (OJT) and training courses will be provided
