Job summary

NETPLUZ is seeking a Network Engineer in Singapore to handle ticket escalations from the NOC team and troubleshoot network-related issues to ensure optimal performance and security.

You will engineer and administer network infrastructure, implement firewalls and VPNs, conduct vulnerability assessments, and monitor systems with tools like PRTG and Zabbix.

Candidates should have 2-3 years hands-on experience and hold at least CCNA, Network+, or Security+. On-the-job training will be provided.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years hands-on network engineering and administration experience.
• Must have at least one IT security certification: CCNA, Network+, Security+, or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and resolve escalated network technical issues to maintain service continuity and performance (NOC escalations).
• Engineer and administer network infrastructure using routing, switching, and security practices.
• Plan, research, and implement network security policies and procedures to safeguard assets.
• Implement, troubleshoot, and resolve issues with firewalls, VPNs, and remote access technologies.
• Perform vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and application security reviews.

Job Summary

Handle ticket escalations from the NOC Team and troubleshoot all technical network-related issues to ensure optimal network performance and security.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and resolve escalated network technical issues to maintain service continuity and performance
• Engineer and administer network infrastructure using protocols, routing, and switching technologies
• Plan, research, and develop network security policies, standards, and procedures to safeguard network assets
• Implement, troubleshoot, and resolve issues with firewalls, Internet VPNs, and remote access technologies
• Manage cybersecurity risks by conducting vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and application security reviews
• Operate and maintain security technologies including system hardening, IDS/IPS, firewalls, and security incident response
• Utilize IT security tools such as Next Generation Firewalls (e.g., FortiGate, Sophos), Tenable Nessus, Email Security, and Endpoint Protection (e.g., Symantec, Sophos Endpoint)
• Manage SD-WAN and Ruckus WLAN deployments and troubleshooting
• Monitor network resources proactively using tools like PRTG and Zabbix to detect faults and ensure network health
• Develop automation solutions to improve operational efficiency and speed workflows
• Document technical procedures and network configurations clearly and accurately
• Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders to present technical information and problem resolutions

Required competencies and certifications

• Possess at least one of the following IT security certifications: CCNA, Network+, Security+, or equivalent

Preferred competencies and qualifications

• Minimum 2-3 years of relevant hands-on network engineering and administration experience
