Job summary

PaxOcean is seeking an experienced NDT Supervisor to oversee non-destructive testing across shipbuilding, repair, and conversion projects. The role covers UT, MT, PT, RT and VT testing on hulls, piping and critical components, with emphasis on safety and QA/QC.

You will interpret inspection results, supervise technicians, coordinate with production teams, and liaise with surveyors and clients while ensuring traceability and compliant documentation.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of NDT experience in shipbuilding, repair, or marine industries.
• Supervisory experience coordinating NDT technicians.
• Knowledge of classification society rules (ABS, DNV, LR) and ISO/ASME standards.
• Ability to interpret drawings, welding details, ITPs, and specs.
• Familiarity with radiographic safety and confined space procedures.
• Strong QA/QC documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform NDT methods such as UT, MT, PT, RT and VT on hulls and piping.
• Interpret results and identify defects against criteria.
• Ensure testing per approved procedures and codes.
• Supervise NDT technicians and ensure safe execution.
• Coordinate inspection activities with production teams.
• Liaise with classification surveyors and clients.
• Prepare Work Done Reports (WDR) and maintain records.
• Ensure traceability of inspection results and calibration logs.
• Verify NDT equipment calibration before use.
• Support audits and review drawings/ITPs before execution.
• Plan daily NDT activities according to project schedules.
