Job summary

PURVIEW Asia Pacific PTE. LTD. is seeking an experienced Database Administrator to manage MySQL and SQL Server environments in Singapore. You will install, configure, upgrade, and maintain databases, monitor performance, and implement backup strategies.

The ideal candidate has hands-on MySQL DBA experience, strong SQL skills, and a solid understanding of database architecture, indexing, and tuning. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure data integrity and system reliability.

Qualifications

Hands-on experience with MySQL Database Administration
Excellent knowledge of SQL
Good understanding of database architecture and normalization
Experience with query optimization and performance tuning
Strong knowledge of indexes, execution plans, transactions, locks and deadlocks
Experience with MySQL backup and recovery
Knowledge of MySQL replication and high-availability concepts
Experience with database monitoring and troubleshooting tools

Responsibilities

Install, configure, upgrade and maintain MySQL and SQL Server database environments
Manage database objects including tables, views, indexes, stored procedures, functions and triggers
Monitor database performance, availability, capacity and health
Perform SQL query optimization and troubleshoot slow-running queries using execution plans and monitoring tools
Create and maintain database backup and recovery strategies, including scheduled backups and restoration testing
Handle database user creation, roles, permissions and access control
Monitor and troubleshoot connectivity, locking, blocking, deadlocks and transaction-related issues
