Job summary

Purview Asia Pacific is seeking a skilled database administrator to install, configure, and maintain MySQL and SQL Server environments in Singapore. You will optimize queries, manage database objects, and ensure high availability and security.

The role involves monitoring performance, implementing backup/recovery plans, and troubleshooting connectivity and locking issues to keep critical systems healthy.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with MySQL Database Administration.
• Strong knowledge of SQL and relational databases.
• Understanding of database architecture and normalization.
• Experience with query optimization and performance tuning.
• Knowledge of indexes, execution plans, transactions, locks and deadlocks.
• Experience with MySQL backup and recovery.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, upgrade and maintain MySQL and SQL Server environments.
• Manage database objects: tables, views, indexes, stored procedures, functions and triggers.
• Monitor performance, availability, capacity and health.
• Troubleshoot slow queries using execution plans and monitoring tools.
• Create and maintain backup/recovery strategies with testing.
• Handle users, roles, permissions and access controls.
