We are seeking a Murex Back Office Specialist to act as the subject matter expert for Murex Back Office functionalities. The role works closely with business and technical teams to analyse, design, and implement Back Office solutions in Murex, ensuring full utilisation of system capabilities across settlement, confirmation, and end-to-end trade lifecycle processes.
Requirements:
- Experience: 5+ years experience with Murex Back Office modules.
- Back Office processes: strong understanding of trade events, confirmations, settlement, fixing, netting, SSI, OSP, and SWIFT.
- Validation & payments: in-depth knowledge of validation, confirmation, and payment processes.
- Confirmations: experience with SWIFT and paper confirmations; familiarity with SWIFT formats.
- Workflow configuration: proficiency in Contract / Deliverable / Event / Exchange workflows.
- Static & Nostro: experience with Nostro Security Module and Static Data (Counterparty, Bonds, Settlement Instructions).
- Trade lifecycle: understanding of front-to-back trade lifecycle across FX, Interest Rates, Equity, and Credit Derivatives.
- Interfaces: experience analysing and supporting interfaces with downstream systems.
- Murex expertise: solid functional and technical knowledge including MxML, Data Dictionary, SQL, XSL, and SWIFT integration.
- Collateral & margin: familiarity with collateral processes, MarkitWire, and Margin Manager.
- Communication: strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Nice to have: knowledge of SQL (Oracle/Sybase) and Unix.
- Architecture & projects: exposure to Murex 3.1 architecture and implementation projects (MXpress, FEM migrations, MXplus, MX.3 upgrades) is advantageous.
- Data management: understanding of market data management and reference data flows is preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as SME for Murex Back Office, ensuring full system capability is leveraged.
- Analyse and document user requirements and translate them into functional specifications.
- Define system and data requirements and validate functional and technical designs.
- Perform technical analysis, solution design, configuration, and unit testing.
- Take end-to-end ownership of deliverables in coordination with Business Analysts and Testing teams.
- Engage directly with business users to understand operational needs and convert them into actionable projects or change requests.
- Support and troubleshoot trade event, settlement, confirmation, and payment workflows.
- Assist with interface analysis to downstream systems and ensure data integrity.
- Maintain and enhance static data and settlement instruction configurations.
- Support upgrades, patches, and new implementations across Murex Back Office modules.
