Job summary

Kerry Consulting partners with a global energy company in Singapore to hire a Junior Operator for the Middle Distillate trading team. You will report to the Operations Manager and coordinate cargo operations with agents, vesselmasters, inspectors, brokers, and counterparties to ensure smooth shipment execution.

The role requires a maritime degree with at least 2 years in trading operations; oil trading experience is a plus.

Qualifications

Degree in Maritime Studies or related discipline.
At least 2 years of experience in trading operations.
Oil trading experience preferred.
Knowledge of voyage operations and Incoterms.
Strong analytical, numerical, communication and attention-to-detail skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

Manage cargo operations and coordinate with agents, vessel masters, inspectors, brokers, and counterparties for smooth shipment execution.
Prepare shipping and inspection instructions and monitor operational performance.
Calculate laytime and demurrage and maintain accurate data in internal systems.
Identify optimization opportunities to support trading strategies and maximize profitability while minimizing costs.
Ensure all operational, contractual and credit risks are managed per company guidelines.
